Bullying is a Global Issue Students Have to Deal With on a Daily Basis
Bullying is not just an issue in television shows, but it is a real life issue that affects students of many ages, backgrounds, colors, and cultures. However, the issue of bullying has plagued many school systems around the globe. Young children suffer the consequences of bullying on a day-to-day basis, which traumatizes them to take drastic measures such as suicide or murder. This essay will discuss on the problems associated with bullying and its effects on the students. Furthermore, the reasons why people bully and the characteristics of bullies and victims.
To begin with, bullying in schools is a worldwide problem that can have negative consequences for the general school climate and for the right of students to learn in a safe environment without fear. For example, the problems associated with bullying is that it affects students; mentally and also physically. Therefore, “children who are bullied are more likely to have serious mental and physical health problems as adults and less likely to hold steady jobs or develop meaningful relationships with family and friends, according to a new study on the lingering effects of bullying”. Subsequently, bullying is quite detrimental towards the academic development of students, as it brings about downfall in their level of performance in school work. Therefore, bullied children live within fear, self-blame, feel weak and it affects their personality trait and self-confidence, so this situation makes them unable to study well and they might hate going to school.
