Imagine driving down the road and a policeman pulls you over for speeding. Are you going to argue with him, even when you know that you were speeding? Chances are most people would answer “no” to this question because they understand what the consequences could entail. Similar to bullying, people find excuses to make someone’s life miserable, when most of the time the victim did nothing but live their life the way they thought was best. Like the police officer situation, bullies will always try to justify their actions even when they know they’re wrong. Cyberbullying is becoming more and more frequent amongst the younger generation. Teens are becoming very much equipped with technology and they’re using it for all the wrong reasons. Historically, people have known about bullying for an interminable amount of time, but nothing has been done about it. A bully is a person that continuously puts others down by using slander. Although it is true that there are punishments for these actions, schools are not doing enough, as well as the community in general, to prevent the issue entirely.
What is cyberbullying? To some people it can mean bullying of social media and to others it means a difference in their lives. “While it is certainly true that physical bullying is unacceptable behavior, cyberbullying can be just as frightening, leaving behind emotional rather than physical scars” (Rogers 12).

I believe that a human being can be bullied either by means of media or in person, but still be able to live a good life and not have to resort to the effects of depression. My experiences could be very different from the next persons, but ultimately, we all have an opportunity to bully because the fact that someone is different than us. Every person is molded and shaped with different features to develop diversity. Some people don’t like a specific race, while others don’t treat people of homosexuality as they would if they were not attracted to the same sex. Each reason is not more common than the next.
