Bulimia, known as Bulimia Nervosa, is a psychiatric illness, and deadly eating disorder in which an individual believes they are fat or overweight. Those individuals lose weight through unhealthy and dangerous methods of recurring binge-eating episodes, followed by compensatory behavior. Bulimia often starts with weight-loss dieting, resulting into food deprivation and inadequate nutrition triggering a starvation reaction. The individual then urges to eat, and consume extreme amounts of calories within few hours. Beginning to feel guilty, or shameful, it leads for one to vomit after meals, fast, over exercise, or misuse laxatives. A weight loss diet cycle formulates, becoming more compulsive and uncontrollable overtime. The overall desire to be thin and accepted appears to be the main cause of Bulimia.
