A religion but also a way of life, Buddhism has impacted the world with benefits and wisdom that enlightens the mind and frees it from suffering. The goal is to reach nirvana and enlightenment on the path of the buddha, while ending the need for desire, and also to end the endless cycle of rebirth and deaths. While practicing this there are many benefits that help you physically and mentally generating a healthy and humble lifestyle. I believe the ethics should be followed because enlightenment should be reached by all and the humble lifestyle can improve this world and its people. He carried the ascetic life of studying, exploring, and practices such as meditation. He also followed many religious teachers and their teachings as guides. He soon met five ascetics who were also driven to release themselves from suffering. The six of them began their new extremist life to withdrawal from the world in search of salvation. Some early attempts were severe fasting and self-denial, an extreme way almost causing starvation and death. After the five ascetics seen Siddhartha’s devotion and commitment they began to follow Siddhartha in his path. Siddhartha soon began to wonder if his actions were productive at all or even getting him close to “enlightenment”. He decided that fasting and these extreme actions were unproductive. Siddhartha sat under the tree and began to meditate in hopes of enlightenment. Some sutras and buddhist history say that during this meditation an evil god named Mara tried to stop Siddhartha from reaching this so called “enlightenment” by sending his sons and daughters to scare him away and seduce him. It is said that Mara first sent his daughters to seduce him but Siddhartha ignored them and continued to meditate.
