This is the first time I have heard Bruce Springsteen- Born to Run. I like the lyrics to the song, it contains a love story of leaving town with the girl he loves. The song is really heavy with the drums and guitar. Bruce Springsteen also has a soft voice in this song. I’m shocked that this song took six months to make. It says that this song was avoiding the glam and stadium rock to establish a personal connection with the audience and the performer. The song touches the audience soul and creates a feeling of enthusiastic. If I were to see Bruce Springsteen perform the song live, I would feel the connection in the performance of this song.

When Johnny cash covered this song I got a deferent message from the lyrics while he sings it, maybe it is because of his voice or how he lived his life, but when he is singing this song I get a sense that he is singing about a loved one that has passed on, growing older, and his legacy.

Johnny Cash can be considered one of the best country artists of all times, but the soul of his music is rooted in the blues. Many of Cash’s songs are about the complications that come with love. Most importantly, Cash does a wonderful job of explaining the complicated nature of love and how it really is the most powerful force in the world. My first song I´ve chosen is Sean McGee, song titled My Story. Mainly the song is about him facing different struggles, obstacles, and all the horrible things and situations he´s been in throughout his life. I can connect to this song and the lyrics for many reasons. One of his lines were ¨Do you know how it feels to be left out in the rain¨? And I have faced times like this when I feel like no one is there or have my back, and in the line he´s trying express how it feels to have nobody and be all alone. Also throughout this song he expresses how everyday you wake up your face with something rather it's just a minor issue or something that will greatly impact your life.
If you look closely at the lyrics Barry McGuire Eve of Destruction directly takes on war and gun violence. the lyric “you're old enough to kill but not for voting” refers to the fact that at 18 years old you were old enough to be a drafted for the army but not old enough for voting. voting in the 1960's was reserved for the age of 21 and older but was changed in 1971 to the age of 18 that we know today. the first verse of the song starts off “the eastern world it is exploding violence flarin’ bullets loading” could be about today's society where the violence in countries such as Afghanistan-Pakistan and Syria is almost the worst that has ever been. communism in China at the time lead to the lyric ”think of all the hate there is in Red China”.

Before his political campaign when he was still considered just a businessman and billionaire, rap songs esteemed his lifestyle. In 2000, the song “Country Grammar (Hot Shit)” by Nelly topped the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at number 5. The lyrics in this song show aspirations to be like Donald Trump and have money, “From broke to having brokers: my price-range is Rover Now/ I'm knocking like Jehovah; let me in now, let me in now/Bill Gates, Donald Trump, let me in now/ Spin now, I got money to lend my friends now.”

After the show had ended, I felt slightly empty. I had waited years and months for that night, and it was over in the blink of an eye. Although I was sad that the show was over, I felt completely content. Now, when I hear their songs, I get to remember what it felt like to hear the band perform them live.
