Bruce Halle

With 879 stores over the United States, Discount Tire is the largest independent tire and wheel retailer in the world. Bruce Halle founded Discount Tire in 1960, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Mr. Halle started out all by himself; in an old pluming supply building on Stadium Boulevard all he had was six tires, four of which were re-treads, and a portable air tank. It took three days before he had one customer and another four before he actually sold a tire. He did everything; he was the tire technician, the salesman, the manager, and the janitor. Discount Tire has thrived as a company because of its core values; treat customers and one another with respect and fairness.
