The Brown v. Board of Education Decision: (1954) The Brown v. Board of Education conclusion changed America greatly. The case began in 1951 when Oliver Brown, an African American, sued the Topeka Board of Education when his daughter was denied admission to her school because of her color. The case was debated for almost three years and the decision was passed down to the Supreme Court in 1954. The Brown decision ruled that segregated schools or separate educational facilities cannot be equal.
