David Williamson wrote the serious comedy, Brilliant Lies in 1993. Three years later the play was adapted into a film. The play was about how a young sexy party girl, Susy, was sexually harassed by her power-demeaning boss, Gary. Throughout the story we are kept in the dark about what the truth really is concerning the account in the office when both parties worked late alone. The film introduces changes to both enhance and develop the play’s main ideas and themes.
Although industry regulations restricted the film to show many scenes described in the book, such as the sexual relationship between Veda and Monty, the film in reality reinforces the theme by showing the tragical climax and denouement at the beginning of the film. Unlike the book, the film takes off with a gruesome murder scene followed by an attempted suicide, instantly creating a dark overtone characteristic of the film noir era. Throughout the film, constant intermission scenes create discontinuities and seemingly attempts to remind viewers of the eventual destination of the plot. Every time when Mildred prepares for a new stage in her life such as being together with Monty and deciding to open a restaurant, the flashback recount is suddenly cut off as the audience is snapped back into reality with Mildred and the officer at the police station. Along with the dark tone created in the very beginning, this narrative design casts a sense of crime on the whole plot, providing viewers with a feeling of desperation for every inappropriate action taken by the characters. Eventually, when the film ends with both Mildred and Veda punished in their own ways, a major release of emotions among the audience lands the final knockout punch on the “unladylike” lives of Mildred and Veda, emphasizing once again the traditional domestic expectations for women in the mid-20th
The climax of the story begins when Leland’s client, Taylor Wilson called and asked to have an emergency meeting. After Leland’s secretary scheduled the meeting and Taylor made it to the office, he began to tell Leland what was going on. At the same time Yolanda was in New York handling some business and also visiting John, her new guy friend. One day she went to John’s apartment on surprise and got a bigger surprise than she expected. While back in Chicago, Taylor was still talking with Leland about the man he saw that he had met back in the days when he was a family court judge. They had an affair and caused him to divorce his wife and leave his kids and career. Taylor told Leland about the man’s gray eyes which made Leland think about Yolanda’s new guy friend.
...y and Amanda still lives like before. Everything is same like beginning except for Patrick, Angie, Remy and Jack. Patrick and Angie used their relationship to prove that parenting is either a right or a privilege. Remy and Jack lose to the right for not being able to bring Amanda away from her mother. They used their life to prove that parenting should be a privilege.
The protagonist of this drama is Martha Hale. She is a typical rural housewife that has lived in a little town in Dickson County all of her life. She grew up with the alleged murderer and had been to the house several times, but not find evidence to convict here friend of murder. This hometown girl is now felling a new sense of loyalty to her friend, as she remembers the way she was twenty years and as little as one year ago. This new loyalty shows her deep ties to the community and her sex. This loyalty to women follows her throughout the story and shows her ability to look past a situation and tell what is really happening in the lives of others. The men in this story obviously think the women inferior and that allows Mrs. Hale to show not contempt for men, but rather their naiveté toward the true nature and feelings of women. She does this to protect them from things that really do not want to find out about because if they did they would be forced into things that are really not wanted by any, sending a woman whose husband she killed in self defense to her death. This dynamic character goes from an uncomfortable situation in which she really just wants to go home...
In the play, the women stick together and voice their discomforts of the men’s deranged ideas of stereotyping by challenging the men’s views about the home having to always be clean. Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters sensed and witnessed expectations from the men which enticed the ladies to secretly go against the men. In the text, the woman side with the crime clues of the woman being accused, and rebel against even their partners.
When discussing the writing of screenplays, regardless of genre, they can be broken into two different categories: original and adaptations. With screenplays that are adaptations, their faithfulness to their literary source is divided into three degrees: loose, faithful, and literal. Audience members that are fans of the original literary source often dislike loose adaptation, because directors stray so far from the original piece.
The audience can sense that Williams has intended Stanley to question Blanche and for her to simply return his remarks with what seem like legitimate reasons "Why, those were a tribute from an admirer of mine." The conflict can only be increased because Stanley has not yet been able to dismantle Blanche and find the truth.

...n what to do. The little things that they overlooked where the ones that they needed to sum up the crime. Because of their male ego being a superior than females they underestimated and judged the women wrongfully. Throughout the play one was able to see the feminine solidarity and their resistance remained unnoticeable by the men .If they would of team up and treated the women with a little more respect they could have sum up their crime much faster.
"Don't forget that David and I, are part of this conspiracy and if we fail to protect you, you are doomed." He responded and I cleared my throat, but I couldn't believe that he was also a member of that society. It was shocking to hear it from his own lips.

A Night to Remember - Original Writing It was the day of the concert. The lively atmosphere around the arena was only beginning, being there early before, I saw the transformation of the what seemed to be spacious hall, into a jam packed stadium, mocked with nothing but up for it Geordies and music lover alike. As the lights sparkled above the stage, the huge amplifiers buzzed, vibrating the seat in which I had suddenly risen from. Announcements through the loud speakers were cropping up every minute, adding to the anxiety, whilst the crowds poured in, creating a carnival like atmosphere, despite still being an hour away form the main performance.
