Believe it or not, water makes a commodious difference in people’s lives. Everyone knows that water is one of the crucial needs for survival. It saves money and is reuseable. Bottled water can contain many unhealthy contents such as caffeine and pharmaceuticals, which both lead to cancer. People should also realize that tap water has much more advantages than bottled water such as its convenience, economy, and health influences in positive ways. Of the many advantages of tap water, the convenience of tap
much more prevalent, as well as prominent in the arena of social and political debate.
Many have always questioned if bottled water or tap water is better for themselves and the environment. Bottled water has many conveniences and is needed, or even wanted, by many people in the United States and all over the world. Water bottles is just not a want for some, it is a necessity. Many argue the fact that commercialized labeled brands of bottled water have offered choices to people that tap water does not. Although most people often rely on these particular brands of bottled water, most are unaware that some companies are simply using unfiltered-tap water at a much higher charge. Bottled water is averagely sold either individually or in packs of 24 or more at your local grocery store ranging from three to five dollars. This is a high cost not just to one’s pocket but to our waste and
As the bottled water becomes more popular, people prefer to drink bottle water over tap water. According to them, it has a better quality and taste. "If we paid as much for tap water as we do for bottled water, most people would have a monthly water bill of over $9,000." - -Andrew C. Revkin - The New York Times
Three Medical Doctors wrote the book, The Water We Drink: Water Quality and Its Effects on Health. Their names are Joshua I. Barzilay, M.D., Winkler G. Weinberg, M.D., and J. William Eley, M.D. In order to put the issue of drinking water quality and its effects on health into perspective, the book is divided into three parts. It first reviews the history of water, disease, and sanitation. The next section deals with health issues. At the conclusion of the book are chapters regarding bottled water and methods of purification. The intent of the book is to educate consumers.
When kids by lunch for school or when they buy beverages, kids make the right choice by choosing bottled water. Imagine if kids didn’t have the chance to get bottled water because it was all banned. Kids will go after sugary and unhealthy beverage. That will make kids be obese, and the health care to treat the kids will be rising. Then the U.S obesity rate will rise and our economy will be destroyed. So, don’t ban bottle water, it plays an important role for us. Water is one of the most beneficial resources ever known. You can live without food for a few weeks, but if you don’t have water you can die within days. I think bottle water is better than tap. Bottle water saves lives, and if you ban bottled water why can’t people ban the sugary and unhealthy drinks. Bottle water skeptics might say that all the corruption between bottled water and tap water will be over if banning bottled water because they aren’t being recycled, and plastic is indestructible and that will lead the bottled water to create an even larger landfill. But these people don’t seem to realize that bottle water is a small part of the landfill and it’s not the bottles problem that it isn’t being recycled, it’s the people.
Imagine being in a hall filled with empty bottles scrattered along the floor. Kids shuffle past them with out picking any up. Bottles at strewn about the community, and people are constantly dropping more. I believe bottled water should be banned in schools. Here are my reasons to explain.
The cost involved in water bottles is inconceivable to many. Bottled water costs 240 to 100,000 times more than tap water, which can be brought to your house for just pennies per day; based on city water usage, 4,787 bottled waters could be filled with tap water for $2.10, if each bottled water costs one dollar, you would pay 2,279 times more than if a single bottle is refilled. If tap water cost as much as bottled water, a monthly water bill would be around nine thousand dollars. By virtue of this, society is unaware of the fact that by replacing water bottles with tap water, many countries with economical dilemmas could be less strained.
According to the “Competition in the Bottled Water Industry in 2006 Case,” bottled water industry became the one of the world’s most attractive beverage categories, as more and more people began to focus on health and fitness. Consumers start realizing the need of proper hydration, and they began purchasing bottled water instead of drinking tap water, because they were worried about safety of tap water, which tasted like chemicals. Actually, tap water contained chemicals, such as chlorine and fluoride, which are harmful for human body; however, this problem was solved when the bottled water was brought to the market. Due to bottled water’s convenience, purity, and portability, and safety, bottled water industry began to rise rapidly. During
Not all water is created equal. There is much debate as to if water should come from a tap or if it should come from a bottle. Many believe that bottled water is a worse option than tap water. However, bottled water can provide many benefits that tap water lacks. Bottled water is better suited for disasters, it can reach underdeveloped countries, and it even provides jobs for many individuals. Conversely, there are people who believe that bottled water contributes to environmental pollution, but despite this, bottled water can do more good than harm.
In today’s society it is uncommon to see people walking around without water. Those who carry water with them either have their water in a reusable bottle or have bought bottled water. Bottled water is the more commonly found type of water carried around, reason being that it is easy to just buy a huge pack so that a person can just grab a bottle a go. The problem with bottled water is that more often than not, the bottle does not get recycled, but instead gets thrown into the garbage. The problem with this is that the bottles end up in a landfill. However, in this past year alone American’s used “about 50 billion plastic water bottles” (Ban The Bottle, n.d., Para. 4). Most people do not see the big difference between bottled water and tap
Bottled water is a healthy alternative to other beverages. It's easy and convenient to grab a bottle and go, and more people than ever are taking advantage of its benefits. However, the cost of the bottled-water trend to both our environment and our wallets is just too high to ignore. The best—and most responsible—choice is tap water.
Water is one of the most essential non-renewable natural resources on the Earth. Technically, an un-hydrated human being can live no more than three days. In the United States, people consume water mainly from tap water and bottle water. However, the consumption between these two sources is not even but lean to one side heavily. According to the Natural Resources Defense Council, people consume from 240 to over 10000 times more per gallon for bottled water than they usually do for tap water. (NRDC) In addition, according to a survey from US National Library of Medicines, only 17% of the participants prefer to drink tap water exclusively.(US National Library) Compared to the bottled water which is shining like a superstar, tap water is like a diligent worker in the shade, unpopular but useful. The extremely unbalance of bottled water consumption implies that a commonly hold conception exists: bottle water is superior to tap water. In fact, scientific evidence proves that tap water is nothing different than bottle water. More importantly, the excessive consumption of bottled water is an irrational use of resources and creates severe environmental issues.
