The Three events I am doing are the Battle of Lexington, Boston Tea Party and, the Intolerable Acts. I chose the Battle of Lexington because it was the war before the American Revolution. Boston Tea Party because King George III punished the colonists with my third cause the Intolerable Acts. The Intolerable Acts were the rules that really “fired” the American Revolution.
My first event is the Battle of Lexington. This battle was the first “real battle” before the American Revolution. It was also the first battle minutemen from all colonies were in. This battle/war is important because it is one of the many mini-conflicts that led to the American Revolution. In the Battle of Lexington, British troops surrounded the patriot soldiers. Somehow,
George Hewes’ account of the Boston Tea party is considered a firsthand account of a historically significant event. The Boston Tea party took place the night of December 16, 1773 on three ships anchored in Boston Harbor. Hewes recounts the events leading up to the Boston Tea Party, the actual attack on the ships and its aftermath. He provides descriptive narration thus contributing to the historical context surround the Tea party. This event and many others leading up to it, provide a colorful backdrop on the eve of the American Revolution.
When the Boston Tea Party occurred on the evening of December 16,1773, it was the culmination of many years of bad feeling between the British government and her American colonies. The controversy between the two always seemed to hinge on the taxes, which Great Britain required for the upkeep of the American colonies. Starting in 1765, the Stamp Act was intended by Parliament to provide the funds necessary to keep peace between the American settlers and the Native American population. The Stamp Act was loathed by the American colonists and later repealed by parliament.
In addition, the Boston Massacre which occurred in the 1770 further developed the tension between the colonists and the British since there were innocent people being killed. Then, the Boston Tea Party occurred and it was a turning point at that time because after that, the Revolutionary war between the Britain and the American colonists became inevitable. It was the first time the colonies decided to stand up for their independence and against the injustice of the Britain. Furthermore, the tension between them were too great to be resolved peacefully. And it triggered a chain of events after.
In regards to the numerous successful Revolutions that have occurred, they all share in common a broad general pattern, causes and characteristics. The American Revolution to a certain extent aligned with this broad pattern and had some identical causes and characteristics. In regards to the preliminary and advanced symptoms of revolutions, the American Revolution exhibited characteristics of discontent and the creation of mobs that was in response to taxes imposed upon them by the British government. The steps that followed although displaying characteristics and causes that identify with revolutions, digresses from the general pattern. The Declaration of Independence, Battle of Saratoga and Siege of Yorktown though somewhat associating themselves with their respective step within the broad pattern, for best part does not fit in with the overall pathology. The American Revolution displayed that certain stages matched with the broad general pattern and throughout its duration exhibited characteristics and causes normally attributed to revolutions. Other parts of the Revolution however tended to deviate from the generally accepted pattern.
This event was said to have started the American Revolution.

Public conflict may be triggered by several causes. For one, it may result from the agitation of several groups who believe that what is morally right is violated. Despite the reason behind, agitators seek to challenge the society so that their proposal for social change is accepted. Hence, it is important to understand the reasons why agitators use different strategies to advance their cause and how establishments can control them. For the purposes of this paper, the Boston Tea Party will be analyzed in light of the concept of agitation and establishment. Further, the strategies of the agitators and the establishment will also be provided.
I believe that the Battle of Yorktown is the most important battle or operation in the history of our country. The defeat of the British shocked the entire world. It showed that a small nation of farmers and merchants could train into a thriving country, and gain independence from a much larger nation. Without it we could possibly be ruled by a king still today. The strategy General Washington executed against the British forces was perfect.
The Boston Tea Party led to the creation of the US and the revolutionary war. Before any taxes were put on tea, the colonists had to deal with the Quartering and Sugar Act. They didn’t like it since it included the British invading their homes and belongings. They were taxed on multiple things. The colonists decided it would be a good idea to just boycott British goods. It worked and both acts were taken away although this angered Parliament and they ended up getting another act.
The four major events significant to the foundation and evolution of the United States today that I have chosen are: the Positive and Negative Impacts of European Contact, the American Military Victory in the Revolutionary War, Slavery and States Rights, and Reconstruction and the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments. All four of these events from the first half of the history of the United States played integral roles into making the United States into what it is today.
