Everyone has a different opinion on what is the greatest comeback ever is; however, none can compare to the 2004 Red Sox American League Championship Series comeback. It is the greatest comeback of all-time. They are the only team to ever win a best of seven series after being in a deficit of three games to none. The only team ever to do this. They made history, and it most likely still haunts Yankees fans.. The Yankees three game advantage over Boston in the regular season was the best record in the American League for the 2004 season. Both teams entered the ALCS playing very good baseball, yet the Yankees seemed dominant to start the series. The Yanks took the first two games swiftly followed by a game three explosion for 19 runs on 22 hits. The Sox appeared to have no chance for a trip to the World Series at this point. The Boston Globe reported their team as “left-for-dead” and claimed their game three loss as a “death sentence”. Boston had lost all hope. Nobody would have expected David Ortiz to hit a walk off home run in extra innings to win game four, but the dinger ignited a spark in the Red Sox. On July 27 1959, A new York attorney named William shea had an idea of putting a new baseball team in new York since the dodgers and giants had left for california.So on march 1st 1961 His wish was granted.The new York metropolitan baseball club or “the new York mets” were introduced into the national league.The name of the team was chosen by owner Joan Payson.The other names that were put into thought were the rebels, skyliners, nybs and avengers just to name a few.On April 11,1962 the mets played their first game in franchise history and lost 11-4 to the St Louis cardinals.The first season was a miserable one.Manager Casey Stengel led the mets to a 62-100 record,The worst record in major league history.After a couple of more losing seasons, The mets finally made a move and signed pitcher Tom “the franchise”Seaver,one of the best pitchers who ever played the game. Through out the 1950s the Yankees experienced highs and lows but team remained arguably the ball club in all of Major League Baseball. In the 50s the team showed off tough unwavering determination to win even when some of their best players were missing from the line up. Although The Yankees didn’t win a World Series each year of this decade it is still hard to argue that they didn’t maintain their reign over professional baseball. At the start of the Yankees organization the team established one of the most storied and legendary histories ever in baseball and has built on it and will continue building on it for many days to come.

At this time in baseball history, the Chicago White Sox had the best player in the game on their team. Joe Jackson was simply known as a future Hall of Famer and the best to ever play at this time (Chadwick 35). He proved this by hitting .351 all season which led the Majors as well as hitting .356 his whole lifetime as a player which is still one of the highest averages today (Chadwick 36). James “Whitey” Bulger was born on September 3, 1929. His life of crime began when he was fourteen years old. When he was fourteen he was arrested for larceny. Larceny is just a different word for stealing. Bulger had also joined the “Shamrocks” street gang by then. Not too long after he was arrested for theft, he got arrested for assault and armed robbery. The judge sent him to a juvenile detention center.

The Sons of Liberty was a group of men fighting for their independence. They were fighting before the continental congress or the beginning of the Revolutionary War. They were called out as being disobedient. They were believed to be political radicals at the time; doing what they felt was right for their town and their colonies. The Sons of Liberty were everyday men that expanded from New England all the way down the thirteen colonies. However, the high activity political gang started to appear with aggressiveness in Boston, Massachusetts. Finally, the ballgame begins, as the Red Sox take field led by the rookie pitcher Jon Lester, who is making his major league debut. Lester is now one my favorite Red Sox players because of this moment. The Red Sox ended up losing the game that day, but for me even though the Red Sox lost, I felt like I was in Heaven. I cherish this moment because it was my first Red Sox game at Fenway. I only get go to one Red Sox game a year if we can afford it. I know to cherish this moment, because to me this day is like Christmas, it only happens once a year. I love going to Red Sox games with Phil because it is time I am spend alone with him. I hope that I can go this year, to go back my baseball heaven, Fenway. To me this experience is important, because it taught me to cherish the moments, and not have regrets.

Throughout history, events are sparked by something, which causes emotions to rise and tensions to come to a breaking point. The Boston Massacre was no exception; America was feeling the pressure of the British and was ready to break away from the rule. However, this separation between these two parties would not come without bloodshed on both sides. The British did not feel the American had the right to separate them from under British rule, but the Americans were tired of their taxes and rules being placed upon them and wanted to succeed from their political tyrants. The Boston Massacre would be the vocal point in what would be recognized, as the Revolutionary War in American history and the first place lives would be lost for the cost of liberty. Even though the lives were lost that day, eight British soldiers were mendaciously accused of murder when it was clearly self-defense. People who are placed in a situation where their lives are threatened have the right to defend themselves. History does not have the right to accuse any one event those history may have considered the enemy guilty when they are fighting for their lives.
