Boron: The Best Choice in Alternative Fuel
With the way the environment is looking these days it seems that it may be a good idea to raise the price of gasoline by one dollar. With growing concerns about pollution and other toxins in the atmosphere, the industry is forced to look into alternate forms of fuel. This extra tax on gasoline could aid in funding their research. Currently research is being performed on the element boron. It has been found to be more efficient and a generally safer fuel than gasoline.
In the past scientists have been looking into solar and electrically powered vehicles to aid in the reduction of pollutants. Only recently has boron been introduced as another feasible alternative fuel. This alternative to gasoline is extremely combustible, and when burned there are no emissions or harmful pollutants. Also, it's easy to dispose of and has an extremely high energy density (Young 1). This little known element has become more recognized for its unique properties.
Discovered in 1808 by J.L. Gay-Lussac and L.J. Thenard in Paris, France, and Sir Humphry Davy in London, England, boron is element number five on the Periodic Table of the Elements. The name "boron" comes from the Arabic "buraq" (pronounced borax). The actual element boron is not commonly used, but compounds of boron are very common. These compounds can be found in such household items as detergent. Boron is also used in Pyrex glass, which makes the glass more heat resistant. Boron is also an essential mineral for plants and animals, although it can be toxic in large quantities (Chemsoc 1). Boron has many common uses, but there are also many advantages to using it as and alternative form of fuel.

Stangl , Oliver . "Direct Cinema and Cinéma Vérité – Guide to the Genres." The Documentary
Just like most of his other films like, Broomfield uses the Cinéma-Vérité style for this documentary. Cinéma-Vérité is a style of film making which uses minimal equipments and editorials. It helps capture the truth of the film and its characters. As the documentary moves forward, it takes on a more interactive mode. This, as the name suggests, implies that there is an interaction between Broomfield and the people he meets. This is also mainly because, it is essential for Broomfield to interview people who were either directly or indirectly related to the late artists to gain more understanding of their individual upbringings, when they were growing up and also after they attained fame. By using commentary for most parts of the film, which, for example, may show an archived footage of the late artists, it provides us with a deeper understanding of who is present in that particular footage and even what was happening at that moment. Broomfield was also able to share with the audience his exact emotions at each moment.

For example, the documentary ‘The Snake Wrangler’ shows the use of these techniques to appeal and engage the audience. The Snake Wrangler wasn’t constructed to entertain the audience but to rather convey a certain message to them. Philip Rosen shows what happens when we don’t use this method, using the earliest actuality films to make this point. In their making, the camera was simply set down and pointed in such a way as to film whatever was in front of it, at the moment when it was operated. It recorded fragments selected from the space and time continuum of the real world, such as the onrush of workers from the Lumière Factory. The projector then presented what the camera had registered and the significance of those shots lay in their photographic credibility: they seemed to show fragments of reality to the audience. This however didn’t allow the filmmaker with the opportunity to fill the text with meaning: in the instance, we found very little about the Lumière workers, other than that they are leaving the factory. Therefore, to give greater depth to these silent actuality films cinematic art is significant. The definition has stood the test of time because it allows for all manner of producer intervention. One obvious path is to side with reflexivity, because it is honest about the shortcomings of filmmaking. However, we cannot be so quick to assume to know what the question is asking. The first experience of watching a ballet, for me or any little girl, can be fascinating and exhilarating. Wondering how a dancer can be so steady on her toes as she spins in circles and leaps through the air. Watching a ballet, there is a feeling of wanting to be graceful, as well as the warm sensation felt by a little girl as she slips into dream land. My mom had taken me to my first ballet when I was 11 years old. When we returned home home, she signed me up for classes at the local dance center. The expectations to become a prima ballerina would involve much hard work and concentration. I knew when I started it would take years of steady practice and commitment. Learning the history of ballet and the famous dancers made me intrigued. I wanted to be like them. So I had set the goal, then I set the pace. To my misfortune I was unable to reach my goal. Gymnastics was another activity I enjoyed. I was unaware of the damage I was doing to my body until I found myself in a hospital bed being told by the doctors, no more dancing. I could no longer practice ballet, I could only watch. I have no regrets. Watching a ballet is just as much fun.

In an age where our dependence on fossil fuels and other expendable resources is dramatically increasing as our supply is decreasing, it is imperative that new forms of energy arise. Although it is still in very early stages, it is fundamentally plausible that hydrogen could become a major fuel source in cars. For example, Honda has already released five hydrogen fuel cell cars.
In Bill Nichols’s “Introduction to Documentary”, he categorizes six different modes for documentary filmmaking. The poetic mode, expository mode, observational mode, participatory mode, reflexive mode, and performative mode. My paper is going to describe particular artists, often associated with the documentary filmmaking style, and how they used the “observational mode” as a way to explore their understanding of place through time.
After reading the article “The Myth of Total Cinema” by Andre Bazin, it opens the discussion of the origins of cinema whether to consider the economic and technical evolution impacted inventor’s imagination causing fortunate accidents that created a phenomenon in cinema. However, this leads inventors to compete with each other over techniques of bringing their imagination to reality but, all agreed that cinema needed to be transparent, flexible, and have a resistant base that was capable of capturing an image instantly.
The idea of a flipped classroom originally came about in the 1980s when Eric Mazur developed a computer-based instruction to guide students through the lessons outside of his class. He did this because he felt his students needed him most during the class time (Schultz, 2014). Through time the idea of the flipped classroom has continued to be expanded on. In 2000, Lage, Platt, and Treglia published a study titled “Inverting the Classroom: A Gateway to Creating an Inclusive Learning Environment.” This study stated that different learning styles are no longer limited by time constraints or the possible loss of content. According to Lage, Platt, and Treglia, “Inverting the classroom means that events that have traditionally taken place inside the classroom now take place outside the classroom” (Lage, Platt, & Treglia, 2000, p. 32).
