Booster Juice expansion into their global market was not successful as they expected and for instance, their Indian market. According to Porter’s Five Force Mode, the competition in the India was not that tough and there are so many opportunities to grow their brand locally in the country. At the time that Booster Juice entered Indian’s market, their brand was still new to the region and there are so many things to learn and adapt which if they managed to do it right, they could become a big and established brand. But one of the biggest problem for Booster Juice in India was how to get their supply such as fresh fruits deliver to their stores. Despite that issue, Indian’s buyer power is pretty high considered that It’s the second largest country in the world where the middle class is even larger than the entire United States population. To put it simply, Booster Juice’s target market was for the healthy-oriented people with age from 18 to 35, and India is the right market for them since they have more than 50 percent of their population with the age from 35 downward. Combining with the age and income, there aren’t much issues to sell the products at all. Another point is the threat of substitution, for this case it’s somewhere the middle in term of difficulty because Booster Juice is an international company and there are many things to learn in India such as local languages, cultures, and the diversity of people.
