I have enjoyed reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid so much. I love the comedy and action in it, but I have a several questions about your book. If you could answer them it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! I was wondering why Rodrick is so mean to Greg? Rodrick is always being rude to Greg. He pushes Greg’s buttons and gets Greg in trouble. For example, “A couple of days into summer vacation, Rodrick woke me up in the middle of the night. He told me I slept through the whole summer, but that luckily I woke up just in time for the first day of school” (11). I feel that if Rodrick was ever nice to Greg your whole story would change because Rodrick and Greg always are having conflict. Another question I have is, why is Manny always lying? For example, “Mom brought Manny over to the kitchen table then she put a seed, a raisin, and a grape on a plate and told Manny to point to the thing that was the closest in size to the piece of thread he swallowed. Manny took a while to look over the things on the plate. Then he walked over to the refrigerator and pulled out an orange” (134-135). I also wonder why you did not use correct grammar in parts of the book? There are many entries in the book where Greg uses incorrect grammar. For example, “Me and Rowley don't technically have stations like all the other patrols, so that means we don't have to stand out in the freezing cold for an hour before school” (154). Is it because it is a journal and so Greg doesn’t worry about how he writes? One of the things I like best about the book is that it sounds like a regular kid is writing
Manny decides to go with frankie to Mondo's house so they can give him the test to be apart of their gang. Manny thought that the test was going to be easy and then he could kiss rita and that's it. But really they beat him up giving him bruises and his lip was messed up. Manny was only worried about his lip and him kissing rita at that time as Frankie tells everyone to leave Manny alone because they were laughing at him because he was so focus on his lip. Frankie brushed the dirt of off Manny he told him he will be fine, Manny explains About him getting beat up when he thought the test was gonna be easy. “I'd swallowed a delicious warm and said, “really?” (185). Manny learns that he can't take a beating from the guys.
The book had a few characters that I liked, but a lot of characters that I disliked. For example Yasmine was a character that I disliked. I didn’t like her because she brought pain to Paige’s life. Yasmine and Paige were best friends for months in Sixth grade. They were constantly doing fun activities together, like having sleepovers or planning each other’s birthday parties, but all that was ruined by a mistake Yasmine made. It is clear to see that after the event with his father chasing his mom with a rifle, Manny’s thoughts changed remarkably. Evidence on page 71 states, “Deep down I hoped Mom would wise up and leave Dad for good, or maybe go live with Grandma for a while, or run off on her own.” He starts to think that the best thing for his family would be for his mom to leave his father. This is exposes that Manny is beginning to have wayward thoughts, for if he had said this out loud, he would have most likely been punished severely. Once again, an example of Manny’s defiant mind can be found on page 74, “Dad must have sizzled on some smart plans while he was in jail, and now, after all the smooth talk with mom was over...I’d rather have gotten dragged across a cactus desert and dropped thirsty in a lake of salt than listen to him, but he had us there in the car, muscling his voice so our minds wouldn’t wander.” This exposes that he is extremely confident in his opinion that his father is not good for his family. Manny would rather torture himself than obey his father. Of course, his dad is beginning to realize that Manny is probably very much against him right now, so he talks throughout the car ride to turn everyone’s minds away from the fact that he is spiteful. Although, Manny didn’t transition to becoming entirely rebellious, he is still as kind as he was in the beginning of the story. Accordingly, evidence on page 154 states, “the blow was like a spike inside my ear, and I stumbled, my head butting against the side of the door…When Mom spoke again, I lifted my face. I wasn’t angry or afraid but could only plead at her with my eyes.” Here, Manny obviously cares about his sister Magda–who is currently suffering from the effects of a miscarriage. Richardson's method of writing is kind of hard to comprehend at first. Every chapter would start off with a new character narrarating their story. You don't know who it is until a few sentences later. The chapter starts with a character, but some chapters would have two or three nararators with a couple paragraphs each character. Sometimes it would be confusing, but once I found out who was talking, I would sometimes have to reread the paragraph from the start to understand the situatiuon. Another thing that bothered, maybe it wasn't the authour's fault, was that many quotation marks were misplaced all over the book. the first few were tolerable, but after a while it got annoying. That bothered me much and like I said, I'm not sure if it was the author or the publisher. I don't really like the style, but it's what the author used to get many stories into one.
In the novel, Katniss and Peeta, used the strategy of showing fake love in order to win hearts of the people and get attention of sponsors in order to survive the competition. Katniss’s on-air romantic relationship with Peeta, which helps her to survive throughout the course of the series, echoes the overtly dramatic romantic tensions at the center of so many reality shows, ranging from The Real World to The Bachelor. The story The Outsiders By S.E Hinton is said to be “timeless” because kids can relate to the characters and themes of the story. In my opinion the story The Outsiders is not timeless because kids these days can’t relate to the characters in the story The Outsiders. Kids today aren’t riding in rodeos, roll drunks, jump smaller kids, walk to a stranger's house, or get in a stranger’s car, also they get arrested at the age of 10. Saying the statement “The Outsiders is a “timeless” book “ is an invalid statement. So, Kids today often don’t relate to The Outsiders anymore in many ways.
As a future educator, I have reflected on how my own personal experiences have formed me into the person that I am today, and how I can use my experiences to help my future students. I have also reflected on how I can information about family systems as well as risk and resiliency to better understand families that I will work with in the future, as well as how children with special needs impact a family’s structure. I believe all of these components are essential for teacher, student, and family collaboration and success.

Disabilities in the classroom are a very important issue for teachers to be familiar with. In the article by Michael Graziano, An Inconvenient Child, Graziano’s son suffers from Apraxia but gets inaccurately diagnosed by his son’s teacher. This creates issues of trust for his son and worsens the learning disability problem. He includes important information all parents should hear in the article. Graziano looks at his son’s disability in the classroom, which directly relates to teachers catching signs of mental illness in the classrooms, how teachers diagnose a behavioral troubled child, and training school counselors on the Section 504 policy. The conversation between Graziano’s concerns and these other current articles establish kairos for the article.

The asylum is governed with a matriarchy by Nurse Ratched. Nurse Ratched keeps her dominance within the ward through strict rules that keeps the patients in order. Her ways to keep her patient's intact may be a bit extreme
The entire family is involved with lies to Big Daddy and Big Momma, as are the doctors. They tell them that Big Daddy does not have cancer, but only a spastic colon. Brick lies to himself about his feelings for Skipper until Big Daddy forces him to face it. He then understands that he is upset about the way his clean friendship has been misinterpreted. Gooper and Mae pretend to be loving and doting children, when in fact all they want is money and land. Big Mama lies to herself, think all the cruel things Big Daddy says are just jokes. She also lies to herself by thinking that a child from Maggie and Brick would turn Brick into a non-drinking, family man qualified to take over the family place. Big Daddy is even wrapped up in the mendacity. He admits to Brick that he is tired of letting all the lies. He has lied for years about his feelings for his wife, his son Gooper and his daughter-in-law Mae, he says he loves them, when in fact he can't stand any of them. Maggie, who seems to tell close to the truth the entire play, breaks down and lies about her pregnancy.
Taking a class in Death and Dying never sounded like a fun endeavor, but I still enrolled in the class with the hope that it would help me better understand how people deal with death. I have had a positive experience with this course, and was lucky enough to solidify some of the themes we discussed in class while reading The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. The story follows a young girl named Hazel Grace, who has a fatal form of cancer. The book follows not only her view of the story, but also involves her family, her cancer support group, and a boy named Augustus.
The Outsiders is about the life of a 14-year-old boy. The book tells the story of Ponyboy “Curtis” and his struggles with right and wrong in a society in which he believes that he is an outsider. Ponyboy and his two brothers, Darrel (Darry), who is 20, and Sodapop, who is 16, have recently lost their parents in an automobile accident. Pony and Soda are allowed to stay under Darry's guardianship as long as they all behave themselves. The boys are greasers, a class term that refers to the young men on the East Side, the poor side of town. The greasers' rivals are the Socs, short for Socials, who are the "West-side rich kids."
The Kite Runner is about the story of Amir, a Sunni Muslim that recalls a series of traumatic childhood events that he claims has defined him to be who he is. The story starts with Amir as an adult in present-day United States and then flashes back to Amir’s childhood in Afghanistan. Amir lived in a nice home Kabul, Afghanistan, with Baba, his father and their two servants, Ali and his son, Hassan. Amir’s mother died while giving birth to him and Hassan’s mother left him a few days after he was born. Amir’s father, Baba, has a close friend named Rahim Khan and he is also around often. Rahim Khan understands Amir better than Baba does and supports Amir’s interest in writing. Baba loves Amir but seems critical of Amir for not being manly enough. Throughout the story, Amir tries to find ways to impress his father and earn his respect
The Kite Runner, written by Khaled Hosseini, depicts the life of Amir, a male from Afghanistan, and his maturation through the social and political turmoil that emerged in Afganistan. Although the story is fictitious, the plot and storyline involves political, social, and cultural problems in Afghanistan. The book also provides a small window of contrast to the contemporary problems of terrorism, cultural battles and coup d'etat in the middle east.
