I have enjoyed reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid so much. I love the comedy and action in it, but I have a several questions about your book. If you could answer them it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! I was wondering why Rodrick is so mean to Greg? Rodrick is always being rude to Greg. He pushes Greg’s buttons and gets Greg in trouble. For example, “A couple of days into summer vacation, Rodrick woke me up in the middle of the night. He told me I slept through the whole summer, but that luckily I woke up just in time for the first day of school” (11). I feel that if Rodrick was ever nice to Greg your whole story would change because Rodrick and Greg always are having conflict. Another question I have is, why is Manny always lying? For example, “Mom brought Manny over to the kitchen table then she put a seed, a raisin, and a grape on a plate and told Manny to point to the thing that was the closest in size to the piece of thread he swallowed. Manny took a while to look over the things on the plate. Then he walked over to the refrigerator and pulled out an orange” (134-135). I feel that Manny lies to get Greg in trouble because he knows that his Mom won't believe Greg. I don’t understand why Greg and his brothers are always fighting. …show more content…

I also wonder why you did not use correct grammar in parts of the book? There are many entries in the book where Greg uses incorrect grammar. For example, “Me and Rowley don't technically have stations like all the other patrols, so that means we don't have to stand out in the freezing cold for an hour before school” (154). Is it because it is a journal and so Greg doesn’t worry about how he writes? One of the things I like best about the book is that it sounds like a regular kid is writing
