Into Thin Air written by Jon Krakauer describes the author’s personal experience during the 1996 Mount Everest disaster. The author pulled me in this book in many ways. Reading the blurb, it gave the reader an understanding that the book was going to be a personal account of facing life or death against nature. Krakauer looking to check on Weathers one last time was surprised he was still alive after being exposed to the cold for a night along with severe frostbites and hypothermia he was inflicted earlier with. Weathers was then transported to a hospital camp in one of the bases only for the doctor to find out Weathers has been in a very severe condition. He was finally transported to a hospital in Katmandu after a helicopter made a dangerous attempt to pick up him
