In To Kill A Mockingbird, the relationship between Scout and Jem Finch helps to create one of the central themes of the story. Jem and Scout have a close relationship in which they create stories and games. One of these games, trying to catch a glimpse of Boo Radley, becomes a central point of the story. The children do not know anything about this man, yet they insist that he is crazy and abnormal. This helps to fortify the central theme of the book, do not judge people before you understand them and get to know them. Boo Radley is considered to be one of the “mockingbirds” of the storyline of To Kill A Mockingbird. This is because he is a good-natured and kind-hearted individual who happens to be a shut-in.
