A week ago, I went to watch Deadpool Movie in the cinema, and a short part of Bohemian Rhapsody song by Queen was played, I had not heard the song before that day. While it was playing my friend told me that this song is considered as one of the greatest songs in history. After the movie, I started wondering about what makes it that great, and that’s when I started listening to the song repeatedly and reading about it. According to McLeod, Ken (May 2001). After analyzing the song, I knew where this is coming from, and I genuinely believe that Queen band earned all the success they have got for creating such glamorous and unique song.

Bohemian rhapsody is known for its audacious and alluring combination of four genres: Progressive Rock Symphonic Rock, Hard Rock and Hard Metal. Briefly, According to Wikipedia, Progressive rock is a subgenre of rock music, which was initiated in the United Kingdom and Symphonic rock is a subgenre of Progressive rock but with more classical influence. They used some rhymes like: “Mama, just killed a man, put a gun against his head. Pulled my trigger, now he is dead”, it is one of the lines that stick in the head immediately. Alliteration is one of the poetics in Bohemian Rhapsody, “Glileo” and “Mama” are words that have been repeated a lot in the lyrics. “Bismillah” is a word in the lyrics that many people do not know the meaning of, meanwhile, since I am Arabic I knew it straightaway and I was surprise when I heard it. “Bismillah” is an Arabic song that means in the name of God.
