Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan was the the finale of the Percy Jackson series, spanning across two series and 10 books. The entire storyline of the series was about a boy named Percy Jackson, who learns he is a demigod, or a child of one of the Greek gods. He is a son of Poseidon, and through the series, he deals with monsters, Titans, and Giants. The finale of the journey was, even though a little dry, a book for the ages. Throughout the second series of the story, 7 demigods are trying to prevent Gaea, the Earth god, from awaking and taking over the world. Blood of Olympus follows the story of the final war between the Greeks, the Romans, and them allying to stop Gaea. There was something for everybody throughout the novel. Except Calypso. Plus, there was a ton of battle scenes. There was about 100 pages of pure battle against foes like Gaea, Nike(Victory goddess), and an innumerable amount of monsters. Even though the battle at the end was a little action-less, it was fun to read. Throughout the book, it split between multiple narrarators, making it easier to see the different points of view of the characters. Plus, it divided the entire book between 2 parralel stories. One being Reyna, Coach Hedge and Nico delivering the Parthenos Statue to Camp Half-Blood, the main Greek camp, to prevent the escalating war between the Greeeks and Romans. Since the Romans lost the Parthenos statue to the Greeks so many years ago, a Greek and Roman both returning it, if according to plan, would be like a peace offering. And the story of Nico, Reyna, and Coach Hedge’s journey was very riveting and intense. I loved how they brought in some of Reyna’s mysterious past. When they traveled to Puerto Rico as a pit-stop for their journey, they met Reyna’s sister, Hylla, and discovered the bane of Reyna’s past. Read if you want to know. Furthermore, I love
