My topic addresses birth control. Birth control is widely practiced with couples to enjoy sexual intimacy without feeling the risk of pregnancy which could potentially lead to making unfavorable decisions about abortion and adoption.. There are different methods for birth control such as abstinence, medications, birth control sponges, IUD, sterilization, and condoms. Contraceptives are prescribed by doctors in clinics and local community health departments that support family planning. Some are non-based prescriptions such as condoms which are obtained over the counter. Birth control offers certain gynecological health benefits such as control of sexual transmitted diseases (STDs), abnormal uterine cramping, and irregular menstrual bleeding. …show more content…
Women consuming birth control pills for more than a year are at less risk of endometrial cancer and an intake of pills for than three months reduces the risk for ovarian cancer. There is a decreased risk of iron deficiency anemia, which helps with the amount of blood flow during the menstrual cycle to and can cause short and light or even in some cases,to not have one. For example, Provera is an oral contraceptive that aids in abnormal uterine bleeding and it helps to restore normal menstrual periods in women who have stopped having them for several months (amenorrhea). Additionally, other oral contraceptives offer similar benefit of preventing hormonal fluctuations that are responsible for bleeding, cramping, headaches and other discomforts associated with getting your period. Women may find that they like the convenience of not having a period during important events or …show more content…
A perfect example to emphasize birth control more clearly are exposed through reality shows such as 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom. These shows reveal troublesome experiences between pregnant girls and the people close to them. It portrays the young parents emotional struggle with being pregnant and life changing decisions to raise a newborn and/or child. You get to see the emotional turmoil and social conflicts with their family, friends, and impact in school. In one episode of Teen Mom, Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra had learned Catelynn was pregnant and knew they wouldn 't be able to care for the child, the only option was an adoption because abortion wasn’t in their favor. After the adoption, they were apparently regretful but favored what was best for the child. Deontological ethics, an ethical theory by Immanuel Kant presents my example better with loving unconditional. With good will in their hearts, the duty of the young couple regardless of the end goal would not be to keep the child. As a result, these reality shows offer visual content that allows one to explore deeper into social and emotional consequences of teen pregnancy and thereby serve to offer more educational support to prevent unwanted

First of I just want to take this time to congratulate you on meeting the requirement of the paper, it was an honor to read about your topic on Birth Control. From reading the paper I can honestly see the hard work you put into it. While reading your paper I notice the use of standard vocabulary words, I found this to be a great idea, in my view it help to persuade readers on the level of text they’re reading, but in other words the paper is not graded on how much vocabulary words you can come up with, I’m not saying using standard vocabulary is a horrible thing but instead focusing your paper on vocabulary words that might get your reader confused and have them searching the web for definition, I honestly advice since this is a argumentative
...reduce teenage pregnancies which disrupt students’ lives. Moreover, contraceptives enable sexually-active students to avoid sex-related dangers such as STDs. Finally, despite the fact that contraceptive use by students attracts different reactions, birth control is necessary to students so as to prevent the numerous harmful effects that come from unsafe sexual practices.
Lastly, to attain birth control, you should learn about it first. Some adults do not know how much priorities they will be faced with due to unsafe sexual intercourse. People who have the benefit of obtaining education regarding birth control are much more capable of deciding when they will start a family and how big it will be. Birth control is not only beneficial to those taking it and their relatives, but also the whole world, because it enhances the morality of society.

Prevention isn’t the only reason for birth control techniques. Health is another major reason for the growing popularity of the birth control contraceptives. COCs or combined oral contraceptives help regulate a women’s menstrual cycle by suppressing ovulation. (Cornforth) The contraceptives also can reduce the severity of cra...
Contraceptive use was the topic my group members and I got to talk about during the Health Fair. Before the day of the event I started to worry about saying the right things, as well as the topic of contraceptive making for an awkward conversation. These thought actually flew my mind as soon as the event began. To start
From the time birth control was first introduced in the late 20th century, many different responses have stemmed from the public. Most popularly known for its names such as ‘Plan B’ or simply just ‘birth control pills’, these and multiple other options provided in today’s society. This medicine is most used to regulate women’s reproduction, and also, to help with various women’s health problems. Controversy, however, looms over this topic as this medicine can also prevent pregnancy if used within a time boundary after intercourse. Many people believe that life does begin at conception, and using such methods to prevent a pregnancy may be considered to be murder. Although, many potential problems can stem from an unplanned pregnancy. Many women may not be mentally or even physically ready to become a mother at that certain time. Even though birth control may have moral downfalls in some
Welcome to America: land of opportunity and most importantly, free. Well, unless you're a young, possibly teenage girl seeking birth control. We have people with extreme morals and religious beliefs making those decisions for you! Let us not forget the people saying sex education is tainting our youth's brains, yet wonder why they lack the basic knowledge on STDs. Remember, "Choice is an essence of personal freedom," (Brooks, ...About Life Control). Therefore leading to the point that birth control should be complimentary to all.
There are many forms of birth control. The topic of condom use has caused some to argue that they should be readily available to teens, I truly think that there are other forms of birth control that are more effective, such as the pill and girls should be given the proper education in order to make the right choices when it comes to protection. Condoms are important to use don’t get me wrong but many times they can break or can be ineffective. Plus let’s face it, in the heat of the moment lack of a condom always doesn’t prevent it from happening. Pregnant teens often delude themselves into thinking that if they are swept away by passion, then they aren’t really to blame; it’s simply an accident. According to Centers for Disease Control “In 2010, teen pregnancy and childbirth accounted for at least $9.4 billion in costs to U.S. taxpayers for increased health care and foster care, increased incarceration rates among children of teen parents, and lost tax revenue because of lower educational attainment and income among teen mothers” (CDC, 2014) Birth control pills are a cheaply made, more effective form of birth control. If the pill was cheaper and easier to get, more teens would be protected and less would get
The debate regarding birth control and they should be available over-the-counter has be going on for ten years. Many countries have the contraceptive pill available over-the-counter (OTC), but the United States does not. An individual who could have favored from this is a childhood friend of mine. Three years ago, at the age of fifteen she got pregnant and was blessed with a beautiful and healthy baby boy. Though she loved her son, there were many things she missed out on being that she was now a mother. She had been to afraid to ask her mother to allow her to be on birth control and relied on condoms, but they were obviously ineffective. Although many teenagers are afraid to ask for their parents permission to get contraceptive pills, this
The first primary source I chose was written by Margaret Sanger. Margaret was a white woman that came from a working class family. She also had a very strong background in being an advocate for women's rights to birth control. Sanger even lander herself in jail for giving contraceptives to women. Margaret’s background with birth control might have influenced her writings because she had a first hand experience with the subject. This source is informative and the intended audience is for all women. Knowing that the audience is directed toward woman helps me know what perspective to look at her writing. The document is about woman’s freedom over her body. The document talks about how women
The topic I will be discussing is a major issue today in which our society has a major problem and tends to be a sensitive topic in every category which is abortion. The views on abortion can be easily one sided with only the women’s opinion because they are the ones going through the process of, quote on quote, killing a baby. Abortion is defined as the termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy, or in other terms the expulsion of a fetus from the uterus by natural causes before it is able to survive independently.
C. Preview/Thesis: i'd like to explain the consequences of teenage pregnancies and things teens should do to prevent it.
