First and foremost, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the organization seeking to employ a Biologist. The CDC is a national level organization leading the way in development of medical advancements and disease prevention in the United States. Finding individuals to bring their expertise and work ethic to the research environment is paramount in preventing and controlling the spread of catastrophic events such as the small pox or other deadly illnesses. The organization realizes the importance of being prepared for outbreaks anywhere in the world by working with partners to have vaccines and preventative health measures in place. While the CDC is based in the USA the advances made in the laboratory and field will translate to global improvement in health and well-being. Building upon the last paragraph, Duties of a Biologist are to perform in the laboratory setting by assisting, conducting and gathering data to report changes that occur in the scientific experiments, organize gathered data to study and find a conclusion for the results, prepare to teach the information to groups by giving presentations on the studies conducted in the lab and answering any questions, lastly give training to laboratory members and students who aspire to be in …show more content…

Learning how to successfully complete laboratory experiments that were progressive in nature taught me how to read and compile data, represent my findings on paper and how working with a team is important in having efficiency in the laboratory. Learning to understand data from biology experiments carried over to other classes such as mathematics and health and exercise science (HES) classes.
