Recommended: Why binge watching is harmful essay

Netflix has recorded that 61% of their users, binge watch every few weeks (expandedramblings). When two to three episodes have been watched in one sitting it is considered binge watching. Binge watching can be very dangerous to the brain and body it can lead to many different common problems that occur daily in our society. The current and universal reason why our generation binge watch is because of how technology advances and how every episode of one show is just on, and, it results in the brain and body deteriorating one cell at a time. Binge watching has become the new normal in the current generation. In the article, Does Binge-Watching Netflix Mean You're Depressed?, researchers say “However, no assertion is made that binge watching Netflix actually makes you depressed, but it could be a factor of a more serious issue.”. Even though this could be a sign of depression this doesn't necessarily mean you are depressed. This indicated that it could just something that is like to be done. However, if an individual is being extreme about binge watching, then it could mean they are depressed. In addition Peng Guoqiu, a psychologist tells society, why binge watching leds, or links to depression. “"[If] someone is just watching TV all the time, primarily to kill time and as an excuse not to socialize, it could be a sign that he or she is suffering from loneliness, anxiety or depression," Adding that binge-watching could be a way for people to avoid or escape unpleasant realities in their lives. The way people handle what is going on in their lives differently, humans cope from different events in their lives in ways that could harm them in the long run.
