Bill Gates is the founder of Microsoft, and one of the most wealthy people in the world. He built computers. Now that he is very wealthy, he is using it for a good use by donating billions to his own charity. The charity is called the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation established in 2004, and the goal of this charity is "To turn caring into action, we need to see a problem, find a solution, and deliver impact" quote from Bill Gates himself. This foundation uses new tools and methods to solve big, neglected problems all over the world. The risks he takes are what truly make him crazy, since he takes different people's ideas, and filters through the ideas finding the best one. Once he finds the best idea he puts $100,000 into it. The next step into investing in the idea is putting a whopping $1,000,000 towards it. This is called the Grand Challenge project. …show more content…

The first is Global Development, giving people in developing countries the tools to overcome hunger and poverty. In order to do that he needs to think beyond outside the box, and find ways to get food to grow easily and much more. The second is Global Health, harnessing advances in science and technology to save lives in poor countries. For this to happen they must think differently, like for example when they thought of the toilet that reuses water.
