Now that he is very wealthy, he is using it for a good use by donating billions to his own charity. The charity is called the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation established in 2004, and the goal of this charity is "To turn caring into action, we need to see a problem, find a solution, and deliver impact" quote from Bill Gates himself.
