Health systems can be categorized into four basic models such as the, Beveridge, Bismarck, National Health Insurance model, and Out-of-Pocket models (Reid, 2010). The Beveridge model was designed for Great Britain and its emphasis is on state financing of health care through taxation. Some countries that use the Beveridge model are, Spain, parts of Scandinavia, and Hong Kong (Reid, 2010). The next model is the Bismarck model that is funded through a partnership between workers and their employers. Examples of use of the Bismarck model are found in countries such as, France, Germany, and Japan (Reid, 2010).
