In 1941 two of the Cyclops’ sister ships similarly vanished without a trace along nearly the same route. A pattern allegedly began forming in which vessels traversing the Bermuda Triangle would either disappear or be found abandoned. Then, in December 1945, five Navy bombers carrying 14 men took off from a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, airfield in order to conduct practice bombing runs over some nearby shoals. But with his compasses apparently malfunctioning, the leader of the mission, known as Flight 19, got severely lost. All five planes flew aimlessly until they ran low on fuel and were forced to ditch at sea. That same day, a rescue plane and its 13-man crew also disappeared. After a massive weeks-long search failed to turn up any evidence, the official Navy report declared that it was “as if they had flown to Mars.” Over the years, many theories - scientific, fiction or myth and issues or anomalies based have been offered to explain the mystery. As with any bizarre situation, people want to find a logical explanation. Many theories for the disappearances come from scientists and are based on facts. Other theories are more imaginable. The most common theory is human error. After all, the Bermuda triangle includes such popular places as Miami and Bermuda. Many of the people who travel through there are on vacation and they may be partying and drunk or simply not paying attention to what they’re doing. This can lead to accidents which cause disappearances and death. Another theory is exaggeration. Some people say that all the bizarre disappearances probably were exaggerated through storytelling and adding layers to the story to make it more interesting. Another theory is compass variation. Normally a navigator has to consider the difference between the compass’s north and true north. The Bermuda Triangle (the Devil’s Triangle), is a stretch of the Atlantic Ocean bordered by a line from Florida, to the islands of Bermuda, to Puerto Rico and then back to Florida. It is well known for all the mysterious things that happen within it. It got its name from a news article written by VIncent H. Gaddis in 1964. He claimed that in that part of the Atlantic ocean, a large amount of ships and planes have went missing without any explanation. He wasn’t the first to claim something about that area, but he gave it the name. The first major story about the Bermuda Triangle was when the USS Cyclops went missing in 1911. It is the most famous ship lost in the Bermuda Triangle. It served has a collier for the U.S Navy during World War 1. It was on its way from Bahia, Salvador to Baltimore, Maryland. The ship never made it to Baltimore. The ship could have sunk anywhere between Baltimore and Bahia. It is not proven to have sunk in the Bermuda Triangle, but that was the area they had said it sunk in.
The Bermuda Triangle is a mysterious section of the Atlantic Ocean covering a huge area from the point of Miami, to Bermuda and Puerto Rico where numerous numbers of ships and airplanes have vanished either for good or found near by as rubble. Although a plethora of theories have come about regarding this vast areas, none of them come to show that these often disappearances occur more frequently in the triangle than in other often experienced sections of the ocean. In fact, people navigate the area every day without incident. If this is the case, then why is it that so many disappearances do happen in this area? The mysterious disappearances in the Bermuda triangle are myths as evidenced by people who travel the area safely every day, there is no scientific proof of the mysteries, and there are scientific reasons why people have disappeared.

Flight 370 was an international passenger flight that went missing on March 8, 2014. The flight was scheduled in route to Beijing, but it went missing throughout the second day after the plane took off from Kuala National Airport. At approximately 1:21 p.m., the communications and transponder signal were functioning no longer. There were no emergency calls at the time the plane had its last checkpoint. On March 24 at approximately 10p.m.Malaysia Standard Time, officials ceased the search as radio signals picked up debris found throughout a remote Indian Ocean. It is believed that all of the 239 passengers on the plane died (Preimesberger). From protests and outcries, to mourning and fallouts, it is still a distraught event that shocked the world.

Then after awhile, CNN went to every little detail on how, when, or why flight 370 disappeared. This article by Bankoff talks about Don Lemon’s reporting on flight 370. Don Lemon thinks that a black hole was the cause for the disappearance of flight 370. How does a black hole cause flight 370 to disappear? Black holes are in space and the gravity is so powerful that not even light can escape and black holes are not even close to earth. Don Lemon also thinks that flight 370 disappeared over Bermuda triangle and he thinks that flight 370 ended up on some island like the television show Lost. Don Lemon brings in guests for their opinion on if flight 370 disappeared by black holes, Bermuda triangle or end up like the television show Lost. One of the guest named Mary Schiavo said that “black holes will suck the universe, the Bermuda triangle is weather and Lost is just a television series” (Bankoff, 4). This story is silly because why is a black hole even mentioned in the story. It is like CNN is desperate for viewers. Not a single viewer can take the story
The Bermuda Triangle, also known as Devil’s Triangle is an imaginary triangle located between the points of San Juan, Miami, and Bermuda. Christopher Colombus was the first to report odd happenings in the triangle. He claimed that odd lights appeared in the area, and that his compass was acting odd. Afterward, countless reports of missing ships and planes in the area have been noted. No one has an answer to the mystery, however several theories have been developed. The Devils Triangle is a common mystery and a contreversial subject because of the mystery that surounds it, the specific disapearances and paranormal activity that has been publicized, and researchers attention to the topic by their efforts to formulate theories and explanations to solve the mystery.

The Bermuda triangle is a place that boggles many scientists, even in this day and age. The Bermuda Triangle, referred to by some as the Devil's Triangle, is in a western region of the North Atlantic Ocean where countless aircraft, ships and people have inexplicably disappeared. Throughout the years of 1955 and 1975 more than 428 vessels disappeared, along with 100 ships and 1000 lives (Obringer1). Where did these people and ships disappear off too and how come no remains were found is the mysterious question people yearn to find out. Back in the 1964, the Bermuda triangle was often nicknamed The Devil's Islands, because sea travelers could hear various different screeching noises coming off the shores (Obringer1).
