Benjamin Franklin is revered for many things, whether it be for his talents in education, religion, science, politics, or international diplomacy. However, one of the things he is most revered for is his outstanding writing ability. Through humble beginnings Franklin eventually found his way to being one of the most influential people of his lifetime. He has many pieces that he is known for but, one of the most commonly known is “Poor Richard’s Almanack.” Originally, in his writings he conveyed the idea that people are not in control of what they do and are not responsible for their actions. Through time, his opinion changed and then he wrote on his new found beliefs. The life of Benjamin Franklin is truly a remarkable one.

With the great amount of money he earned from this paper, he purchased The Pennsylvania Gazette from his former boss. With the brilliant ownership of Franklin, the floundering newspaper was reshaped into the most read paper in the American Colonies and became one of the first newspaper companies to turn a profit. However, his biggest success was the writing of, “Poor Richard’s Almanack.” The almanac was published at the end of 1732 and included many different things. Some of the things it included were, astronomical information, poetry, weather forecasts, and proverbs such as, “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” The almanac was such a good seller that it was published for twenty-five consecutive years. “Poor Richard’s Almanack,” was by far one of Franklin’s best pieces of
