The most obvious criticism, most of the public protests, is the foreign policy of the United States. America has become very well known as the “Police Force of the World.” A debate still rages on, in today's society, about America's involvement in the Middle East. Both sides of the argument give noteworthy points according to what they believe would benefit America. However, this post will not be studying the foreign policy of America. This post will be going in depth about what caused the deaths of four innocent Americans in Benghazi. Firstly, we must take a look at what happened, in Libya, that caused America to be involved in the first place. Sean Smith was an information management officer. Once the militants stormed the main structure of the compound, they came across the door to the safe haven. After multiple attempts to gain access into the safe haven, they brought in diesel fuel and set a massive fire. Stevens, Smith, and Strickland attempted to flee from the fire by taking refuge in a nearby bathroom. However, the smoke was able to enter the bathroom from beneath the door. Strickland was able to exit the compound from a nearby window, but the Stevens and Smith were not able to follow. The Regional Security Office sounded the alarm and called to the Benghazi CIA annex and the embassy in Tripoli. After some discussion, the CIA's Global Response Staff at the CIA annex, which included Tyrone S. Woods, decided to attempt a rescue.
