Benefits of Soy
It is said Soy has many nutritional benefits when it comes to males and females. The many compounds it provides for us are known to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer (web 1). These are just a couple of the main benefits, there are also many other benefits relating to the usage of Soy. For decades, Soy has only been found in health food stores like GNC. Many “normal food eaters have also laughed at the ones who have a considerable amount of Soy intake. That seems to be changing now since new researches are finding many other nutritional benefits.
So what is Soy and where did it come from? The soybean is a legume, also known as Glycine max. The United States is the largest grower of soybeans (50 percent of the world crop). It is not known in the wild and is believed to have been created through cultivation from Glycine ussuriensis, a wild Asian wine (web 2). The soybean was considered one of five sacred grains (along with rice, barely, wheat and millet). Growing may be intolerable in cold locations since it cannot tolerate frost. But other than that, soybeans can be grown in most soils, plants mature in 75 to 200 days.
A study conducted at the Brighton Medical Clinic in Victoria, Australia showed that women who were given 1-1/2 ounces of soy flour every day for 3 months lowered the occurrence of hot flashes by 40% (web 1). Hot flashes are a symptom that occurs during menopause, over 80% of women experience this. The healing agents in soy are phytoestrogens, which can block the negative effects of natural estrogen. By blocking overproduction of estrogen, which is thought to cause breast tumors, Soy can lower the overall risk of breast cancer.
In the article Nutrition Health Review, they state that men can also benefit from Soy. Much attention has been given to how women can benefit from the healthful properties of soy, but new research reveals that men should incorporate soy into their diets as well. In November 2001, researchers from around the world shared their research results at the Fourth International Symposium on the Role of Soy in Preventing and Treating Chronic Disease, in San Diego. Among their key findings: Soy may help slow growth of prostate cancer cells and stabilize the disease in diagnosed patients, and it may reduce blood pressure, which leads to heart disease risk.
In most prisons, you will find that prisoners are ill-treated by the prison officials yet suing them is a whole lot of bureaucracy. To sue such officials one need to have first raised his or her grievances prior, lest the case is termed to have not followed the required stages hence rejection. This thus promotes stigmatization amongst the prisoners and such policies require amendment. In most cases, you find that prison officials punish inmates to extents that are excessive of what is required. There several scenarios where we have heard of prison deaths due to bullying and even sponsored fights between inmates and such fights could be sponsored by guards who have prejudiced over some inmates. Through the litigation reform acts, and with evidence and following of appropriate procedures, prisoners can thus be able to get some relief and more important enjoy their rights as humans as well (Jail House Lawyers Handbook,
Hormone steroids used in food can have many effects on the people who eat them. Steroids in animals make the meat taste better and become lean. Even though the steroids they put in animals are edible, it does not mean they do not have an effect on those who partake of the food. The steroids in animals have a large amount of sex hormones. These steroids sometimes can contribute to cancer. They also may make girls develop early and cause them to hit puberty faster. It has been found that girls who eat foods with steroids have a higher chance of having breast cancer. People who eat dairy products that have steroids in them are increasing the risk of breast cancer. Those who eat meat products may have effects on children w...
Most people appreciate their hair as the most valuable assets especially for women. However, there are so many problems related to this precious thing nowadays such as hair loss (alopecia), dandruffs and premature greying and balding. The researcher’s team headed by Professor Markus Nothen from University of Bonn and Dr. Roland Kruse from Dusseldorf University in 2005 discovered that the main cause of alocepia is hereditary factors which either because of high androgen receptor formed or variant receptor which develops as a result of genetic change. In addition according to Hoffman (2002), “The most common form of alopecia in men is believed to be due excessive activity of androgens on the scalp where the hairs become miniaturized and pigment production is stopped.” Hamilton (1951); Hoffman (2002); Price (2003); Severi et al., (2003) claimed that conversion towards more potent testosterone is due to elevation level of 5-alpha reductase lead to common baldness. For the genetically derived phenomenon, it supposed to be totally about the hereditary cause and the other exogenous factors will be excluded. However, there are also views from proponents saying that some natural food involves in solving these hair—related problems for example emblica officinalis or amla.
People are unaware of the harsh effects of meats. They contain toxic fats and hormones not intended for human consumption. Each year seven million people die from cancer internationally. However, a change into a healthier diet, such as veganism, can lengthen people's lifespans. Due to the low-fat, high-fiber diet, the vegan diet has a tendency to prevent cancer. Veganism has been proven to prevent certain cancers, studies show that veganism hinders the development of cancers such as breast, cervical, ovarian, and prostate cancer. Not only does veganism prevent diseases such as cancer, it also improves one's physical and mental health. The elimination of the animal products will cause one's Body Mass Index (BMI) level to change. Fattening food consumptions of meats can cause weight gain. Therefore, the elimination of these unhealthy proteins helps with weight loss. Along with a positive body image, not supporting the inhumane slaughtering of innocent animals could ease one's conscious. However, without meat, vegans aren't able to consume the right amount of nutrients that non- vegans get. For an example, vegans do not get cobalamin (B-12) naturally because it is only in animal by products. Vegans can always take vitamins to fix this problem. Also, they do not receive a lot of calcium, vitamin D, and iron, but just like they take supplements, or eat fortified foods, as a substitute for cobalamin, is the same way they are able to fix these other problems. Not only do they find a way to fix small problems with their diet, but also with the harmful effects for humans, and the environment people live
As stated by Heidi Smithson the two main reasons people plagiarize is because they don’t feel comfortable with their writing skills and they decide that they cannot do it and end up plagiarizing. Many of these people have either not had enough time to develop their writing skills, or they have come from other countries where there are different rules to writing that are have different definition of the word plagiarizing. The other reason Smithson gives is that most people and especially students plagiarize because they do not manage their time efficiently and they leave it to the last minute. If people are caught plagiarizing there are many consequences that they can face. Smithson’s paper says that if you are caught plagiarizing at school on an assignment then you could get a minor punishment as getting zero on the assignment up to getting expelled from the institution. If you are caught plagiarizing in the work place then you could get sued and fired from your job.
To some people, this sounds like a good benefit to genetically modified foods. Others, however, have found that these facts simply don’t help them in the long run. Large portions of people probably don’t know this, but the majority of food produced in the United States is actually genetically modified food. Side effects that people have brought up are health problems that seem to occur from ingesting the genetically modified foods. Another issue with genetically altered food is that they have attributed to higher pollution of pesticides. Lastly, people dislike genetically modified foods because they see there is less regulation on them from the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) than there are on other products put in the market (The Issues).
Because of the advances in information technology, I am of the opinion that every incoming freshman should complete an assignment on plagiarism. I myself have gained awareness in so doing, and have a greater appreciation of the temptations faced by students as well as the frustrations faced by educators. Socrates, Plato and Aristotle would be proud.
Saturated fat and cholesterol and an increased risk of heart disease. Fiber and a reduced risk of cancer. Fruit, vegetables and grain products that contain fiber and a reduced risk of heart disease.
Plagiarism is a serious academic or professional offense that could, unfortunately, ruin one’s academic and professional success. A multitude of people within a student body may not understand the importance of plagiarism and the seriousness of this offense in one’s academic or professional life. As indicated by the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, the definition of “plagiarize”, is “to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own”, the definition also states to “use (another's production) without crediting the source” (“Plagiarizing”). There are several different types of plagiarism; however, each type is very serious. The Turnitin Plagiarism Spectrum is a beneficial website that explains ten different types of plagiarism
I had to face with what I am going to do with my life. With this in mind, I could see how students could feel that plagiarizing could be the best option for them. However, if I had plagiarized through my school work I could have easily ruined my goals for my future. From what I know, my definition of plagiarism would be basically stealing someone elses work. As far as I can remember through all my schooling I have been taught that plagiarizing is wrong. In elementary school, around the time of starting the fourth grade, was the first time I knew the basics about plagiarism. High school though is really the time where I learned about the consequences of plagiarism. While doing my first research paper, the teacher made it clear that if anyone in the class plagiarized you would not only fail the assignment, you would fail the class, the principal would be n...

Plagiarism is a very serious subject to talk about. It doesn’t sound like it is that big of a deal but very serious things can come out of it. Students could lose scholarships and get kicked out of school for something as simple as copying someone else’s work. Students should learn the rules and regulations of the school ,that they are attending, about plagiarism.[1] That’s basically what plagiarism is; copying someone else’s work.
Looking beautiful is something all people openly (or secretly) aim for. And for them to achieve this, good health should always come first.
