Behaviorism is a view of learning that views the learner as a passive receiver of information and behaviorist believed that all learning was a stimulus response process. There are three iconic figures that coined the behaviorist theory John B. Watson, Ivan Pavlov, and B.F. Skinner. The classroom setting has been one of the best places to assess students as well teachers as they interact. In this particular learning environment the best way to determine what is transpiring in a classroom is to physically observe. Observation serves as the voice of what is being learned on the students’ end and how the material is being delivered on the educators’ part. The teacher responded to the students demand upon them raising their hand he would address their issues. The student knew what was expected of them and to receive what they wanted they were driven to hold their end of the bargain. The teacher knew that the students had something they were looking for and would do what was required to obtain their wants. The teacher hardly reminded or told the students what to do. The students responded to the stimulus that was placed before them by their teacher and responded to it the appropriate way and in turn received their reinforcement. The teacher gave another form of stimulant the quiz points that would be added to the students’ end of week exam. He knew in doing so, it would bring about motivation for the students to do their best and apply themselves to earn points to better their grades.
