Becoming a Lawyer
The career I have chosen is to become a lawyer, in either a private practice or firm, or for the government. The definition of a lawyer is an advocate or advisor in society, that is as an advocate, to represent one of the opposing parties in a criminal or civil trial, and as an advisor to counsel clients as to their legal rights and suggest courses of action. But that is not all a lawyer is about. Being a lawyer takes hard work, dedication, and many years in school.
Before you become a lawyer, there are many educational hills you must climb. First of all, like in most jobs, you must have a high school diploma. Then there's college. You must attend a four year college, although you may graduate in three, were as you would have to go to night school. But you're not out of the water yet. Law school is next on the agenda, which you must attend for three years. Some specific courses you may want to take to prepare for all of this include English, foreign languages, public speaking, government, philosophy, history, economics, math, and computer sciences. Now, althou...
The career I chose is sports medicine. Sports medicine is a career based on helping those injured whether they are an athlete or a 23-year-old in a car accident. After doing some research on which career is best for me, I chose sports medicine because I have a fascination with helping those that may be hurt, out of shape, or in rehab and need to get back on their feet. Sports medicine has always been my dream job because it fills that desire for me to help those that are injured, allowing me to expand into different branches to provide assistance to those recovering; also providing an income that I will be able to live comfortably.
I personally would like to get involved with commercial litigation and represent larger companies. The big businesses are the ones that are going to be able to afford the hourly rates, and in doing so I know that I will have a secure paycheck.
West’s Encyclopedia of American defines competence as, “possession necessary reasoning abilities or legal qualification; qualified; capable; sufficient.” It is immediately presumed that an attorney has, at a minimum, received a law school education and has passed his practicing state’s bar examination. The perspective attorney has been drilled and tested on various aspects of general law, his chosen specialty and possibly the psychological effects a trial of any kind could have on the mind as well as the body. Training at this level is designed to reassure the student that he is ready to go forth and achieve greatness. That can be a tall order for some aspiring attorneys. Instead of getting nervous, they should remember that they are not require to inventing the law, simply applying it to the client’s defense. When an attorney is confident in his ability to practice law it is a win-win situation for everyone. As stated by the ABA: “A lawyer shall provide competent representation to a client.” An attorney must recognize that the foundation on which he stakes his...

Although no specific major of study is required to attend law school, law students commonly hold degrees in political science, history, business, or economics. My major is Paralegal Studies and I expect to graduate with an Associates of Arts degree in December of this year. Many years ago, as an investigator for both a private company and a county agency, I was introduced to the legal field. Recently, I was awarded the opportunity to attend college, so I decided I wanted to reenter the legal profession as a paralegal. The paralegal profession appeals to me, because I enjoy the processes of developing a case, as well as its legal aspects. A paralegal is involved in a case from the beginning to the end; from the initial client interview to assisting the attorney during the client’s trial or the settlement process. My goal is to become a paralegal for a solo practitioner or a small firm in my local area who represent clients in different areas of the law.
The career I wish to pursue is that of a stockbroker. I am extremely interested in the trading of stocks and financial holdings so the career of a stockbroker just seems to fit in with my overall plan. Numbers have also always been a fascination of mine and the trends of the economy and long term financial outlooks have often interested me greatly. Stock broking is a risky business that one needs to be prepared for highs and lows if choosing to pursue. You must understand what a stockbroker truly does to even begin to follow this as a life long career.

My Career The career field I chose is to be a firefighter. The reason why I want to be a firefighter is because they help people and prevent fires from spreading. I’ve always wanted to help people everywhere, because I don’t like it whenever there is an accident and some people die and lose their loved ones, people talking crap about them and just talking and pointing the cameras in their face watching them cry. I want to help people and make a difference and help protect people’s lives, and be someone people recognize when I walk by them.
