Becoming a coach has different ways. It can take some college, often teachers must teach in a field that matches their bachelor’s degree. Now there are coaches that teach as well or athletic coordinators. Athletic coordinators are coaches that deal with just sports and do not teach. Those have to go through a different process that regular coaches. For becoming a coach some have to know some health levels. With being a coach , athletes often get hurt and need to know how to properly take care of it. Sometimes when wanting to coach a specific sport you may have to have some background with that sport. Why would they just throw someone to teach kids something when the coach doesn 't know what he is talking about. It better to have a coach with experience to pass good skills to
The job outlook for the physical education teacher job market is expected to grow by 12.2% between 2012 and 2022. This increase is pretty close to the rate the athletic director field is supposed to increase. The training and skills necessary to enter the field are a Bachelor’s degree which is common in most states but some states require a master’s degree. The skills that would be needed is instructing, speaking, active listening and learning, critical thinking, and monitoring and assessing
AC 2.4 Recognise any potential barriers to coaching in the workplace and explain suitable strategies to overcome these barriers.
Great teaching is a skill like any other, and in fact it is a combination of skills that is built through deep practice. To be a master coach you have to be great teaching and love what you do. All master coaches usually follow Wooden’s rule, which is 7% communication and praise, 7% criticism, and 75% that transfers information. Last thing master coaches try to follow is that they rather let their athletes figure out there problems rather than telling them how to do it. They have to make them independent thinkers to let them reach their maximum
I am a high school softball coach and a high school social studies teacher. The reason why I am coaching softball is because I love softball and would like to teach other people about the sport I love. One day I would like to see the girls I coach love softball as much as I do. Softball is not the only sport, but it is a part of my life and it is the game that I love. The reason why I would like to teach social studies is because social; studies is my favorite subject and I would like to teach my student how many people risked their lives and died forming our country.
Being an athletic director seems like an amazing job because of the interaction with people and being around athletics. A lot of kids are involved in at least one sport, if not more, during their life time. Being an athletic director would give the opportunities for the kids to enjoy the sport or sports they are in by having an organized program and making it a good experience for them. An athletic director’s job is very important, they make sure every thing is in tact and organized. They make the schedules and let everyone know what is going on.
This is an interesting question. Coaches come from all backgrounds. As previously mentioned there are coaches in the health and wellness world, in the executive development world, relationship coaches, coaches for families with children that have special needs, stress management coaches - the list goes on and on. Of course there are many coaches that cross pollinate and have several areas they focus on.
To be a successful coach, the first thing a coach has to do is become well acquainted with the athlete. The coach should get to know the athlete’s life outside of track. If the coach does not know the person as an individual then he would not be able to coach them. According to a collegiate track athlete, “a track coach should not only improve your running, but he should improve your way of life” (Jones). I believe that statement is true. A coach needs to have that close personal connection with their athletes. Like a teacher would have a connection to a student. With out that teacher, student connection the athlete will not enjoy learning nor will the coach be able to teach the athlete. In fact, a coach is a teacher, and the athlete is a student. That should be true for all coaches, not just a track coach.
The path way to expertise in different profession is similar. It requires large amount of time, concentration, reflection and practices. Teaching as a profession which is more concentrated in the mind-work rather than physical work, more effort is required. From a novice teacher to an expert, high concentration and contribution is essential, by having deliberate practices; the novice teacher will be accelerating towards an expert.
My senior project is about being a coach and how it can be difficult and not an easy task. I wanted to show others that being a coach is something that takes time and effort in order to accomplish it. Being a coach is not a fun job but it is a job that will help you in the future. Coaching is an experience that not a lot of people get to go through but those who do become not just better people but they become teachers to others in troubling times and in time of need. Coaching gives you and also shows you that being helpful and courteous to others actually helps you out as a person and it also helps out the players you’re coaching to be better people and to be kind and not take things in the wrong way and to show them a better way that will help them in their life.
“People are remarkably bad at remembering long lists of goals. One may have learned this at a professional level when trying to get my high-performance coaching clients to stay on track; the longer their lists of to-dos and goals, the more overwhelmed and off-track they got. Clarity comes with simplicity.” As a child he always looked at being able to play or coach a sport at the professional level. For the reason of me just loving the game of Basketball. Also i know it will make an impact on lives because people look up to you and the money in make will give back to communities and change lives around you. In a society where kids must go to school up to the collegiate level, teaching is an impactful career choice. Teachers help contour the minds of future leaders of the world. Furthermore, teachers play a crucial role in guiding students to the knowledge, skills, and abilities they need to succeed in life, and teachers lead students to make informed decisions on any topic the meet in the future. As a teacher, a person must relinquish their knowledge onto students. Finally, they must prepare their students for all the obstacles they will face later in life.

It will take time and effort for a coach to progress and gain the knowledge needed in each phase of development from novice, through competent and proficient to expert. Although a novice coach may be starting out on the coaching path, how they approach coaching will have already been affected by what they have experienced in sport, often in playing, and in life. Novice coaches will have a basic understanding of all areas of coaching knowledge. However they will tend to focus on trying to follow the rules and not see themselves as having control, with the potential to see others being the reason for a lack of success in a situation.
I've been coaching from high school and didn't know that I would have such a passion for coaching. When I realize that coaching was my calling when I notice that I can talk with person and bond with them and understand them clearly, at that person would come to me for help and advice on things. Not just how to communicating but how to coach because you can't just coach someone if you can't communicate with them on a different note and that's what I think I have. How I realize that I can coach on a different note, it was my last year in high school when my would leave me in charge not only to lead practice as a captain but also help coach to coach the other girls on my team (we would call each other sisters) which I had many opportunities to
