Introduction to your Topic: Basketball was invented in 1891 by a man named Dr. James Naismith. He wanted it to be a game that people would enjoy and have fun playing. Michael Jordan once said, “Just play, Have fun, Enjoy the Game.” To Michael jordan basketball isn’t a game, it’s a talent. In 1998 Michael Jordan won his last championship of his NBA career and was excited to see what the future held for basketball. Basketball is a privilege, you don’t just get up and say I’m gonna be a basketball star, you must work in order to accomplish it and it also goes the same way for the coach. Other than the point guard the coach is the second most important position on the court. Coaching the game is important and it take time and dedication in order to accomplish it. My topic is over the ways of being a coach and ways you can improve yourself as a coach in order to be success. The expectations of being a coach is to understand that in order to improve you must be able to work and give time into the game so that you can be successful as a coach.
I expect to find ways on how to improve ways on becoming a coach and being successful.
Research: In basketball you must understand that you will lose and you must be able to get better as a coach that way. Tony Gentilcore wrote an article on ways to become a better coach and he understand what you must do in order to succeed. He has 7 ways on becoming a better coach and those ways are Observing other coaches, It is about more than just strength training, Video tape yourself coaching, Don’t be one dimensional/know your athletes, Read more coaching material, Get out there and coach, and last is Give back.
