Beatrice and Benedick, Beatrice, have had their ups and downs. The pair absolutely despised each other, but with the help of their peers, family, and friends, everything will clear up. Benedick is a soldier with player ways, and Beatrice is a beauty with scornful ways. Their relationship will drastically flip from the beginning to the end of the book.

Initially, Beatrice and Benedick weren’t fond of one another. For example, in act I, Benedick states, “God keep your Ladyship still in that mind, so some gentleman or other shall ‘scape a predestinate scratched face,” and Beatrice responds, “Scratching could not make it worse an ‘twere such a face as yours were. Although during the beginning they had feelings for one another, those feelings never got let out of their cage. In order for the to let their emotions fly, they had to have a spark start it all. Benedick, astonished, says, “ It seems her affections have their full bent. Love me?,” and he continues to go one until he finally says, “ By this day, she’s a fair lady.” Don Pedro’s plan worked on Benedick. His plan was to talk aloud so Benedick could overhear them, with the help of Leonato and Claudio. They do the same thing to Lady Beatrice but with Ursula and Hero speaking. Finally, at the ending Beatrice and Bendick confess their love for each other. “A miracle! Here’s our hands against our hearts Come, I will have thee, but by the light, I take thee for pity, “ Benedick says. Beatrice answers by saying, “ I would not deny you, but by this good day, I yield upon great persuasion, and partly to save your life, for I was told you were in consumption.” Happily Benedick responds with , “Peace! I will stop your mouth.” They proceed, and Benedick takes the big step by saying he will marry Beatrice one day soon.
