When purchasing a Black Bean Burger from Wendy’s, the fundamental need and want this product fulfills is it expands the menu options for vegetarians. Previously, vegetarians dining at fast food establishments had very limited choices that mostly consisted of salads. However, with the test launch of the Black Bean Burger, the menu at Wendy’s has moved beyond salads. This new burger also can be a healthier alternative to a beef burger. The generic level of product would simply be a patty made of black beans with no added toppings or sauces. This level of product still fulfills the need but might not be very appealing. While there are not many points of parity among other fast food chains, you could buy a similar veggie burger in the freezer section of most grocery stores. They can also be prepared fairly quickly and have similar nutritional value. Not many other fast food chains offer many, if any, options for vegans and options are limited for vegetarians. It is memorable due to the simplicity of the name and how directly it relates to what the burger is made of. Since the name of this burger is so generic however, it would be hard to protect legally. If another name had been chosen that was a coined word instead, it would be much easier to make exclusive to Wendy’s brand. The Black Bean Burger stands by itself on the Wendy’s menu and in the burger fast food world because not many products have similarities. The reason why the cow wants the audience to eat more chicken is because in their mind if people “eat more chicken, they will in turn not be eaten. The cows don’t necessarily show that they have emotions because they are supposed to be “fearless cows” (cow campaign) but if you connect the dots from my point about how it’s ironic to have a cow as the main character for a Chick-Fil-A commercial to the other point about the message “eat mor chikin” and to my last research point about why the cows want the audience to eat more chicken, then you would realize that they do have emotions. This story began with two brothers Dick and Mac McDonald who owned and ran a small restaurant in San Bernardino, California during the 1940s. In 1954 a man named Ray Kroc came across these two brothers while selling multi-mixers and was impressed with the business they were running. The menu was compact, listing options for only a few burgers, fries and beverages, but the restaurant was effective in its operation. Ray Kroc pitched the idea of spreading McDonald’s restaurants across the United States and in 1955 he founded the McDonald’s Corporation. By 1960 he bought the exclusive rights to the name. Fast food meals have been linked to multiple health problems. Such health problems like heart diseases, which is the leading cause of death of men and woman in the United States.
