The computer network configuration and use needs to be analyzed in order to support the needs of Bead Bar for future planning and upgrading of Bead Bar’s system, especially when a distributed database is involved. With a distributed database, all of Bead Bar’s computers will need to be connected through a telecommunications system. The computer network is going to be a critical component of Bead Bar’s information system. The reason for the computer network being a critical component is that it will determine the way the company unfolds in the future and how it will unfold as new locations and features are added to the Bead Bar infrastructure.
Throughout this report, I will discuss recommendations for a network topology that should be used, the network architecture, and the advantages and drawbacks that the network will provide for the organization. These advantages and drawbacks will not only affect the company but they will also affect the customer and the way the clientele corresponds with the company.
Bead Bar has spent a great deal of money and time in designing and making their stores look good, so having wiring run everywhere in a disorganized fashion in order to connect the computers to the telecommunications system is not going to be feasible because it has an impact on the way customers view Bead Bar’s company. This is why it is so important for Bead Bar’s networking system to function at its most effective level with as little complication as possible while maintaining a positive appearance to its customers and efficient customer service, which is a goal that management of Bead Bar has for the company.
There are different parts of Bead Bar that exist and will benefit a great degree from the addition of a network system. These parts of Bead Bar include the following: finance with Julia as the Chief Financial Officer, marketing which will allow Miriam to collect sales data from multiple studios, purchasing that will be made a simpler process with a network, and human resources which will allow the Director of Human Resources to communicate will employees on a whole new level. This will also improve employee’s ability to perform their jobs, improving customer service.
These areas might as well run separate from the company without having a more direct communication with the system. Currently the company has no way for each location to communicate effectively with others or each area and thus creates a gap in the accessibility of information.
Putting this IT system into place will create unity and streamline the way Tanglewood regional managers run their region and keep the original ideals of Tanglewood within each region. There also have reason for concern over the balance of Potential customer in an area verses how many employees are in the region. This ratio should stay consistent within Tangle wood. For example, if the region has a potential customer number of 3,000,000 to 4,000,000 then the number of employees should range from 4,500 to 4,900 employees. The consistency will help the managers run their regions in the same

AT&T provides professional network service to enterprises. Services for Asia Pacific region include integrated Global Enterprise Management System, Internet data centers, voice over internet protocol, virtual private network, and data hosting. In order to provide a complete network solution to clients, AT&T, at the backend, is supported by their own data/network center, protocol and the undersea cable network. AT&T is proposing a network solution to one of their big clients BHP Billiton. BHP Billiton has subsidiaries in over 30 countries and they are considering to implement a professional network for better internal communications. The project will involve setting up an approximately two hundreds network sites in different countries within a tight time flame. The successful of wining this contract will drive AT&T Asia Pacific team to earn double of their existing annual revenue. This would be very attractive to AT&T due to the lost of a number of clients as a result of the economic crisis earlier in the year. An effective strategic decision process, as found by ...
Berean¡¦s existing network infrastructure is wire line, and uses a T1. Remote users access the network through a dial-up modem pool. Berean¡¦s wire line network model severely limits the accessibility and effectiveness of the Berean network. For example, employees in Berean facilities are unable to access the network easily from meetings, the cafeteria, or anywhere other than their offices. In addition, the effectiveness of remote users is limited by the slow speed of present-day dial-up modem connections.
Using this option, users have an access to organized data (number of visits from each country) for the past 30 days. Small businesses mostly do not operate internationally, however, it can help mangers of small businesses as it can be considered an opportunity for future activities in potential location where they get a large number of visitors. For instance, if a small business provides services or products mainly in Korea and less Japan but they see high traffic of their page is coming from japan, they can conclude that their advertising method or product they are selling is working well in japan. As a result, they can start or improvise their business through higher investment and target based advertisements regarding needs of customers in that location. Going deeper in geographical based report, managers can get detailed data of which area (cities) they are getting higher number of visitors. This information allows managers of small businesses to increase their understanding of potential areas so that they can manage their investments
Connecting computers together to create a network greatly increases the communication capabilities and can even save a company substantial amounts of time and money. A well thought out network design from a small home network to a large corporate intranet can be a deciding factor in the success of a network. Two important steps in the designing of a successful network are the logical designing phase and physical designing phase. The difference between the two and the importance of each are explained in the following pages. To help in the explanation of the difference between logical and physical network design I will be using a fictitious textile company and work through the two design steps.
The existing network design is flat network that has evolved over period of time to meet the growing requirements, because of the design approach all the workstations are in one broadcast domain.
Local Area Networks also called LANs have been a major player in industrialization of computers. In the past 20 or so years the worlds industry has be invaded with new computer technology. It has made such an impact on the way we do business that it has become essential with an ever-growing need for improvement. LANs give an employer the ability to share information between computers with a simple relatively inexpensive system of network cards and software. It also lets the user or users share hardware such as Printers and scanners. The speed of access between the computers is lighting fast because the data has a short distance to cover. In most cases a LAN only occupies one or a group of buildings located next to each other. For larger area need there are several other types of networks such as the Internet.
Over the past few years, Internet-enabled business, or e-business, has drastically improved efficiency and revenue growth. E-business applications such as e-commerce, supply-chain management, and remote access allow companies to streamline processes, lower operating costs, and increase customer satisfaction. Such applications require mission-critical networks that accommodate voice, video, and data traffic, and these networks must be scalable to support increasing numbers of users and the need for greater
This can’t be said enough. The systems your business uses need to be connected and able to exchange information back and forth through an automated process.
