According to researchers at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh “The levels of stress in women has increased by 18% and 28% for men from 1983 to 2009” (as cited in Jayson, 2012). Stress has become part and parcel of our lives, stress is not always bad on a person although, if there is too much stress present, it can have damaging effects on a person’s psyche. The best way to combat stress is to take a well-deserved vacation. Since the levels of stress have increased, society needs a break from their stressful lives and by taking a vacation, they can have some time to relax and become more energized when they return from their vacations. Beach resorts mostly consists of activities on the beach which involves water. For instance, swimming, water skiing and etc. Now if you’re not the type that likes getting wet, there are also activities that you can do on land which involve beach volleyball, sun-bathing and etc. In contrast with the beach resort, the hill resort’s activities are a bit more for the adventurous type. The most common thought that comes to mind when you hear of a hill resort is of course hiking and rock climbing. Although there are activities for people who are searching for peace which are bird watching and in my view the most wonderful activity to do in a hill resort which is star gazing. If you should choose the hill resort, this is an activity which you can’t miss out on due to the fact, you won’t be able to watch these stars in the city because of light pollution. In my opinion, both these resorts come with marvelous activities to choose from however if you should choose the beach resort and don’t like water, there aren’t many activities which you can do on land.
