Batman vs. Superman Superheroes protect people from danger ranging in criminal acts to natural disasters. My two favorite heroes are Batman and Superman because they are dedicated to protecting innocent people. I think Superman is pretty cool because he is bullet proof without having to wear a vest. Although Batman does not have any special powers he manages to fight crime with cool gadgets. Even though Superman and Batman are different they are similar in ways that makes them my favorite superheroes. First, I would like to discuss Batman who does not have any super human powers nor does he come from another planet. According to DC comics Batman is “… An American billionaire… philanthropist, and owner of Wayne Enterprises”. He does however use his physical fitness, martial arts, and intellect to protect the citizens of Gotham City from villainess criminal activity. During the day, he is Bruce Wayne but at night he wears a bat mask, a utility …show more content…
According to the DC comics website Superman first appeared in DC comics in 1935 and entered our planet by way of spacecraft (Wikipedia.com). Some of his superhero powers include x – ray vision, super strength, super speed, laser vision, and bionic hearing. However, he cannot see through lead and Kryptonite is his weakness. Unlike Batman, Superman flies to get around and he fights his enemies on ground, in the air, on Earth, and other planets. Another difference between him and Batman is his outfit Batman’s outfits are darker compared to Superman’s. Superman wears blue and red while Batman wears black and grey. Also Superman is a little more social than Batman who seems to be introverted. Superman’s secret identity is Clark Kent and unlike Bruce Wayne who is more smooth and confident. I like Superman because even though he is not technically from Earth he still makes it his mission in life to protect
Batman and Superman are superheroes whose qualities are exaggerated in a way that is reminiscent of the gods and heroes in The Odyssey. In Fact, the superheroes from comic books emerge from the epic tradition. Epics, as you know, celebrate the great deeds of one or more legendary heroes. This epic hero is generally involved with a quest to overcome hardship, and he (and it usually is a "he") succeeds. The hero performs superhuman exploits in battle, often saving or founding a nation or the human race itself. Sound familiar? And even in terms of the superhero's body, with his bulging muscles and larger‐than‐life qualities, such figures evoke the images of Baroque masculinity. What Becomes important in these retellings, then, is how the hero makes the journey, how he faces his obstacles, and what he learns in the process.
Bruce Wayne, Batman’s secret identity, is an American billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, and owner of Wayne Enterprises. Batman is one of the most well-known and well-liked superheroes of all time probably because of all of the comics, TV shows, movies and video games with him in it. Many are interested in Batman mainly because he is human, has no super powers and no special abilities just like a normal person but continues in many super human things using his gadgets, a body suit and a brilliant mind. Not only are these some of the differences between him and some other super heroes but he wants to see justice served and to defeat his enemies because he focuses on what is right and what is wrong. Batman has starred in about fourteen films both as a starring character and as an ensemble character beginning in 1943 and the latest in 2012 with two more coming in 2016 and 2017. Having earned a total of U.S. $1,900,844,295, the Batman series is the fifth-highest-grossing film series in North America. The first full-length movie of batman made in 1989 shows that to overcome great diversity one must step out of the bounds of what is socially and morally acceptable though the characterization of Batman, the contrast between
In origin, a hero is an archetype character that refers to protectors, warriors, or god-like man who protects humanity. For instance, Hercules was a hero in Greek mythology. In modern culture, heroism is recognized as an extremely popular trait that a character can possess. In this case, Bat Man, also referred to as The Dark Knight, is indisputably idealized as a hero. Unlike most superheros in comicbooks culture, Bat Man is a simple human being with absolutely no superpowers. Regardless of that, he as a simple human being still exhibits the courage, intelligence, talent and the necessary skills in fighting crime and defeating potentially hazardous villains seeking to either rule the world or cause destruction. In detail, Bat Man’s real name is Bruce Wayne. Bruce was 10 years old when his parents were murdered which fundamentally change his perception about the world. After his parents’ death, Bruce inherited a multibillion dollar company that his father created before his birth, which explains why he has the most advanced technology to help him fight crime. While growing up, Bruce trained himself to fight and had been working out. One night, he came to the conclusion that Gotham city is falling into the hands of criminals. For that reason, he convinced himself that it should be his obligation to prevent it, although he needed a hero identity to hide his real identity
There are various stories on the history of Superman causing one to believe that he was mischievous insurrectionist. Superman was born on Earth and founded by earthlings, Jonathan and Martha Kent in his starship that crashed in Smallville, Kansas. In another story, Superman was also found in the middle of nowhere, but was sent to an orphanage soon after. The original Superman is quoted to be “half Huckleberry Finn and half Robin Hood” (Tye 31). He had the technique to be straightforward and purpose as pure as gold. However in another comic rewrite, Superman is said to have been “a spineless, unbearable coward!” (Tye 31) by a woman that he is trying to pursue. Superman’s personality and character changes multiple times through the years making the reader think one thing, but if analyzing another comic make them think otherwise. It is believed that his purpose in crime fighting is not the same as most other superheroes tend to be. While Superman does have a personal trauma, he “cannot ritualistically redress this past by fighting criminals in hand-to-hand combat, as Batman and Spider-Man do” (Yockey 26). Superman generally protect great numbers of people, unlike the rest of the superheroes; he saves the whole world from catastrophes. Seeing how Superman’s home planet has been destroyed is unknown, but allows one to understand that the reasoning for his heroic d...
Firstly, Superman is an alien, to the United States and to the world. But is he really that different from you and me? We are all descended from people who were immigrants to America. Engle writes: “All Americans have immediate sense of their origins elsewhere” (Engle, 678). So doesn’t it make sense that everyone that fights or works for our natural freedoms are aliens, the soldiers, the doctors, the teachers, and Superman himself? “Like the peoples of the nation whose values he defends, Superman is an alien” (Engle, 678). Like all aliens the reason for coming to this country is to make something better of ones self. Where one may run any kind of business they please and not worry about someone else intervening because they simply can. Superman ...
Superman has had many alterations by American artists throughout the years. In the year 1938, Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel sold the well known American Icon Superman to DC Comics. They created this character as high school teens in 1933. In a short period of time Superman was being seen from newspaper strips to television programs, films and video games. Siegel grew up loving science fiction to the point of writing stories and submitting them to publishers only to be denied; this did not make him give up. Shuster also had a passion for science fiction stories and when he met Siegel in 1931 they instantly connected as they both had a very strong taste for the genre. One might portray Superman differently than the other but Shuster and Siegel originally created him to wear a blue costume, red cape, and a red and yellow “S” shield on his chest. Some changes made by artists include modifying of his costume by adding gloves and sometimes short sleeves and differences of his face and body structure.

Batman is ruthless and is feared by most criminals in Gotham. He does not go soft when it comes to catching the bad guys. Batman repeatedly severely hurts criminals and on some occasions will even kill. If he thinks a criminal should die when he gets locked up in prison, Batman will brand him with a bat symbol to let all the other inmates know that they have done something worth dying over. In a way, Batman acts as the judge and the executioner for criminals that are caught by his hands. Batman will kill regular criminals. He honestly does not have any power to kill a super being. He can use his gadgets but his human ability is not match. Superman, on the other hand, does not kill unless under extreme circumstances. Circumstances such as when he fought General Zod,. Superman kills the bad super beings. Mostly the ones trying to end planet Earth or harm innocent

Batman is one of the most well-known superheroes out there, appearing in many comics, movies and TV shows, as well as holding nicknames such as “The Dark Knight” and “The Caped Crusader”. He has performed countless impossible feats and fights among the best superheroes against the forces of evil despite being only human. All that protects him from menaces like the Joker and other villains are his physical and mental strength, along with an array of gadgets like batarangs and the batmobile. As a vigilante of Gotham city, he helps to solve crimes and defeat supervillains all around. It would be amazing for Batman to exist in real life wouldn’t it?

I have chosen two heroes to compare and contrast based on cultural aspect and what they act. The two heroes are The Batman and Iron Man.

Batman and Superman are on a similar mission: to defeat evil, protect the ones they love, and live two different lives in order to protect their city.
To identify one superman from another, people look at their specific powers. For sure, everyone in his/her life dreamed or still dreams to have different superpowers and become a hero. Spider-Man is a superhero not just because of his powers but many other features, which all superheroes have in common. Spider-Man is known all over the world as a fictional superhero. There are many T-shirts with his pictures, costumes and toys in shops. Everyone knows about his amazing abilities. However, he obtained a title of the superhero not just because he can climb the walls and shoot webs from his wrists. The first time people met Spider-Man was in comics in 1962 (Kistler, 2012) where he appeared as one of the members of the famous Avengers team. It took readers by storm. His personality and backstory impressed many fans which made Marvel create his own series, "The Amazing Spider-Man" in 1963 (Kistler, 2012). The first Spider-Man movie surprised the film community with the single largest U.S. opening weekend gross revenues in history and the hero became famous in the world.
His costume has changed quite a bit. Mainly with superhero costumes, it stays the same to pay a tribute to the original, the one where it all began. In the case of Superman it has changed quite a lot in comparison to other superhero costume changes. The costume colour changes as the movies progress, the blueness of the costume simply depended on the colour of the screen they were using. The main reason for the costume changes was because his powers and personality was slightly changed every time a new movie came out. Superman starts of having quite a “dad” body, a normal average body but over time he became more ripped as the sequels started coming out. This happened because they were trying to show the anger & “resistance” he was building up. As he took on more responsibilities he needed to look a lot stronger so it seemed more believable. As mentioned above he started out as being a ‘boy scout’ (In the comic books leading up to the first movie) and since then he has taken on a lot more responsibilities than a ‘boy scout’ (Source
