Batkid Begins, is a feel good movie documentary, featuring a young boy (Miles) who has leukemia. Ever since he was a kid, Miles enjoyed watching superhero cartoons, particularly batman. Miles wishes to be the real batman. This movie shows how the city of san francisco came together to make his wish come true. Five year old Miles Scott grew up in Northern California with his parents Nick and Natalie. At 18 months, Miles was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia. He was put through intensive care for three years. At five years old, after his remission he was qualified for the make a wish foundation. During a large part of his childhood he was fascinated with superheroes. In particular, Batman: there fore it was no surprise to his family when he wished to be batman. This was not only the story of Miles, but of the city of San Francisco, pulling together to make his wish a reality. The movie does not really relate to me personally, except as previously stated, I thought it was an emotional movie. One thing that struck me as interesting, was that people actually flew out to be a part of this. They wanted to be involved in the event for Miles. Because of Miles’s story, make-a-wish foundation raised a record amount of money. It was an amazing way for the city of San Francisco to give Miles a piece of his childhood back. If I were to create a meaningful documentary it would be about animal extinction. Humans have caused 322 animal extinctions in the last 500 years. The reason I would make this documentary, is because lack of awareness to the situation. Not only is extinction throwing off our ecosystem, the world is losing amazing animal species that have been here longer than us. For example, the African Elephant population has taken a sharp decline. These elephants are being poached and killed for illegal ivory
