Describe a basic game strategy or movement skill (offensive or defensive) you learned in class that can be transferred across at least two different sports we covered in this semester. Explain how this strategy or movement skill increased your individual or your team’s success during game play in both activities.
A basic game strategy is short passing and quick passes. It's an offensive strategy and can be used throughout several types of sports. In sports like floor hockey, it's an invasion territory game making people being more aggressive and defensive. With teamwork the use of our team can pass the ball continuously to fake or trick the opponent to shot for a goal. Also, passing the ball around let everyone have a chance to play and try

The health-related component of fitness is cardiorespiratory fitness. The aspect of basketball involved this component is running which improves my running to get the ball to shoot into the net. The indicators that I am working to improve the component while playing is to running around to open places and to running back to defend, improving this will make me more healthy and active. The skill-related component of fitness for basketball is reaction time since the sport is a fast paced game and you need to be awared of your surrounding after all there's other people on your team with the ball trying to get into open space and the opponent team defending their net. The indicators that I am working to improve the component while playing is to communicate with my team and be aware of my surroundings and if there is any open spots to try to score and pass to open teammates. The component will improve my life overall in school with decision making, being alert, etc.
Select a food item that you enjoy eating in your weekly diet. Describe 3-4 specific benefits and/or drawbacks of including this food choice in your diet. (Use information from food labels as evidence for your
This is essential in tennis for example to be able to sprint after a ball at the other side of the court (drop shot for example). Agility - This is the ability to change direction quickly and the ability to change and control the movements of your body. This is needed to be able to change direction quickly while the ball is in play, as you are not expecting where the next ball is going within the court. Muscular Endurance - This is the ability for the muscles to work
Game Theory, originally derived from the subject of Mathematics, aims to provide a way to understand strategic social interactions; such as in the case of the Cuban Missile Crisis. It can be understood as the study and explanation of strategically, mutually-dependent actions and decisions (strategies), made by what are assumed to be ‘rational’ decision-makers (players) in competitive conditions that involve both conflictual and cooperative options (games); where the objective of each player is to achieve the most desirable outcome from a set of potential outcomes (payoffs) (Carlson & Dacey 2013; Myerson 1991; Prisner 2014; Turocy 2001). Despite being a mathematical theory, its application in international relations has been prominent
Players learn teamwork and acceptance, which leads to success on the field. Interpersonal skills are strengthened through diversity because players understand basic values and assumptions (Doherty, 1999).
Game Theory was said to have been introduced by Emile Borel in 1921. Borel was a French mathematician who published papers on the theory of games. From this standpoint and according to the article “Game Theory”, Borel could have been named the “first mathematician to envision an organized system for playing games” however; evidence has shown that Borel did not develop his ideas any further. This is the reason why most historians have given credit to John Von Neumann.
Teaching Games For Understanding Model is the topic that I researched. This teaching model was created by Rod Thorpe and David Bunker from Loughborough University. The abbreviation for Teaching Games For Understanding Model is TGFU. This model was made for students to help educate them about the games they play in Physical Education. This learning model does not reflect on the performance from the student. It focuses on teaching student’s skills and key concepts in the classroom. There are six stages in TGFU that specifically target an important skill or concept that the student needs. The following six stages are Game Form, Game Appreciation, Tactical Awareness, Decision Making, Skill Execution, and Performance. All of these stages combine to make one goal of educating students with the skills and concepts they need in Physical Education, sports, and life.
Two different foods can be both healthy in two different ways. The two foods can also be healthy in the same way too. The foods can also be unhealthy as well. The only way to determine which is more healthy is by reading the food label. Then decide which food has more or less of a given component. White bread and Whole Wheat bread are excellent and at the same time, terrible for your nutrition in some aspects. Fish and chicken are also superb and unhealthy for you in different aspects. This essay will focus on comparing and contrasting the foods listed above.
Sports are often identified to have positive influences on many individuals. The sports industry is growing worldwide, especially the basketball industry, which is regarded in second place behind football. The global prevalence of basketball is unquestionable, especially among the young. Basketball is a dynamic team sport that involves a pattern of alternating, active, and skilled movement activities. There are compound demands that require a mixture of individual skills, team plays, strategies, and motivational aspects.
My intent is to properly explain how to play a sport the different things that are required to play any the many sports out there. Learning a sport takes time, and the ability to be coachable in whatever sport you might do. In every sport your coach gives you tips on how to improve on different attributes that may help you better yourself as an athlete. These tips that are given and learned, help improve the overall ability that you have in the sport. In learning these skills you are cognitive, associative, and autonomous which help you the skills you learned and use them effectively. These theories all have something to do with process of learning that takes place in any sport played.
Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) is seen throughout physical education curriculums and helps students gain an understanding of the rules and concepts of certain activities. The goal of TGfU is to help the students understand what they do and why they are doing it. Also, students can be taught by using a modified form of the activity that the teacher wants them to do. TGfU is not judged on how good or bad a student will perform. Although the model is used mostly in physical education, we see it now being used by coaches.
We all know that computers can help a jumbo jet land safely in the worst of weather, aid astronauts in complex maneuvers in space, guide missiles accurately over vast stretches of land, and assist doctors and physicians in creating images of the interior of the human body. We are lucky and pleased that computers can perform these functions for us. But in doing them, computers show no intelligence, but merely carry out lengthy complex calculations while serving as our obedient helpers. Yet the question of whether computers can think, whether they are able to show any true intelligence has been a controversial one from the day humans first realized the full potential of computers. Exactly what intelligence is, how it comes about, and how we test for it have become issues central to computer science and, more specifically, to artificial intelligence. In searching for a domain in which to study these issues, many scientists have selected the field of strategic games. Strategic games require what is generally understood to a high level of intelligence, and through these games, researchers hope to measure the full potential of computers as thinking machines (Levy & Newborn 1).
Sports programs have been an integral part of all schools. They support the academics of the school and therefore foster success in life. These programs are educational and help produce productive citizenship. They help students experience and build skills that may help them in their future, like interpersonal and time management skills. Education may kindle the light of knowledge, but sports help to maintain the proper physique. Sports are also an important means of entertainment and a use for energy after long hours of study. Sports increase a student’s performance not only in the classroom but also in their life.
Many social interactions we encounter on a daily basis that involve personal decisions simultaneously involve decisions made by others that affect the overall outcome. Any situation in which the outcome is dependent on the choices of two or more people is what defines an interactive decision. Game theory studies the human behavior involved in these strategic settings, which surround the interactive decisions. In order to label a social interaction a game there needs to be two or more decision making agents, called players, each with two or more options to act upon, called strategies, and a clear understanding of what each player’s preferential outcome is that are associated with numerical payoffs (Colman, 2016). For example, when two people
Since we have been learning about nutrition in class, our task was to record a food log. Nutrition requires a well-balanced diet containing nutrient and vitamins like amino acids and fatty acids. Over the past seven days I have been recording and have been looking very carefully at my intake of nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and fats. In our task, the objective was to record the basic foods we ate during the period of seven, but it did not require recording every single detail or our intake of food. Doing this food log was a pain and it was disturbing because I never wrote about what I ate like breakfast, lunch, dinner, or additional meals. I found this food log useful because it helped me learn what I can change in my intake of foods to make my diet healthy and to see what about my diet is affecting me from being healthy because I could affect me in the future.
At IHS we will offer many types of physical fitness. Being physically fit is significant to enhance the quality of your life. Physical fitness improves the immune system, strengthens joints, bones, and muscles. Doing activities that help you become fit are necessary for muscle development and the function of the lungs and heart (Lee, Burgeson, Fulton, & Spain, 2007).
“Physical education plays a critical role in educating the whole student. Research supports the importance of movement in educating both mind and body. Physical education contributes directly to development of physical competence and fitness. It also helps students to make informed choices and understand the value of leading a physically active lifestyle. The benefits of physical education can affect both academic learning and physical activity patterns of students. The healthy, physically active student is more likely to be academically motivated, alert, and successful. … Throughout the school years, quality physical education can promote social, cooperative and problem solving competencies. Quality physical education programs in our
