Obama’s Presidency
Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4th, 1961. He went to Harvard Law School. After his graduation, continued his legal work as a civil rights lawyer and a professor teaching constitutional law at the University of Chicago. He was elected to the Illinois State Senate in 1996. He served there for three terms (1996-2004). Later on, he started his campaign in 2007 for the presidential election in 2008. He won the presidential election against John McCain, his Republican opponent and started serving in the office in January 20, 2009. He became the 44th President of The United States of America. He is more well-known for being the first African-American who ever served in The White House.
During his terms, he has placing several domestic policies. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), aka the Obama Care, is a good one to mention. It is a health care reform which purposely gives more Americans access to affordable, quality health insurance, and to reduce the growth in health care spending in the United States. It meant to lower the ranks of the uninsured and to help boost the economic. One factor of why this act is not working is “Americans are selfish” – Vu, 32. By saying this, he meant that a lot of Americans think that they are paying (high) taxes for those who don’t care about their health. Those who are not responsible for their health will eventually be depended on this act of the government; they will take advantages on this. Those who are responsible for their health think that it is not their jobs to care for those who don’t even care for themselves. We cannot deny that it is hard to run a class as a president in high school. We are talking about a nation, one of the key nations in the world’s perspective. It’s full of stress and pressure. It’s not easy for Mr. Obama or the entire presidents before him to run this country. They are all tried their very best for this thing they are dealing with. Some efforts weren’t well-reflected but at least they kept us moving forward. Mr. Obama’s leadership is doing a well-done job for Americans. We should highly appreciate his willingness, and commitment to our countries. As he is continuing his last term, we should pray for him to have an open mind, to have a brighter vision in everything.

There has been controversy surrounding the first African American president, after his first term Obama failed to prove to America that he would fix all the things he promised to fix upon election. With his second term he has set in place his views and goals for the country. Obama’s views have been trying to benefit the overall population of American, from the poor all the way to the rich with a few subclasses in-between.
