The cost and administrative burden of providing health care benefits to employees has grown rapidly in the last several years, and organizations have opted to cheaper means of doing this by resorting to CDHPs programs that are little bit cheaper when using deductible health insurance plans. This has led to the hope of healthier generation in the near future as the cost of health services would be manageable (Buntin, Damberg, Haviland & Kapur, 2006).
(W. Lease, personal communication, July 23, 2010), the “unknown” of the recent health care reform legislation is an external influence that is most relevant to our organization, stated by William Lease, senior vice president of clinical support services. Mr. Lease states, that health care reform legislation will impact our organization in many ways; especially after 2014. While more employees will have health insurance coverage and there will be more patients to treat; the need for controlling costs and improving efficiency is i...
Integrated systems have a huge interest in developing and aiding ideas that provides care at a lesser expense. Therefore, they are usually the first ones to implement innovations that will ultimately change the overall health care system. Kaiser Permanente, Geisinger Health System, and HealthPartners are the nation’s highest leading performers when it pertains to quality and expense. Effective and successful unsettling innovations within the health care system will give further care at a lesser expense than we can even envision. “Many of today’s great, integrated systems were once disruptive innovators but they now provide more for less only by present standards.” Sequentially, their most recent organizational models and expense structures
The healthcare industry offers a lot of opportunities. Like mentioned above, anyone can choose to be a doctor, a physician, a chief executive officer, a chief financial officer, a nurse supervisor, just to name a few (Princeton, 2013). But particularly, there is a field that is filling a lot of us with excitement today, a field that was so secluded only few find themselves in it; a field which we believe is

...ntinually evolve, a certain degree of freedom must be felt by its members, bureaucracy represents and organization from which chaos has completely been eliminated. Nurse Executives, therefore, will need to encourage staff to challenge existing practice. Given the current environment, creative conflict will need to be supported in order for our continued growth.” (McGuire, 1999, p. 9) I believe that Capital Health is on a path for success. Human resources are the present focus of attention in health systems strengthening and public health policies.[1-3] Strategic planning is essential to assess efficiency of human resources and health services, being an effective tool to address innovative solutions within health systems.[4-6] Although the organizational environment is recognised as an important factor in health services functioning and development, external environment continuous modifications challenge decision makers and practitioners. For health professionals, this environment could be described by a constant technological evolution, a growing search for patient-focused care and empowerment of citizens, particularly in terms of health knowledge.[7]
Biotechnology is a growth field that consists of the use of biological systems or living organisms in which technology is developed and applied1. Take a look at IBB in figure 1 below it shows an increasing upward trend in the past 5 years showing the fast expansion and growth of the bio sector. One of the significance and importance of biotechnology is that it covers almost every field. The application of biotechnology can be used for industrial, agricultural and medical purposes. The study of microorganisms and particles can be beneficial to mankind. With a clear understanding of internal body composition and molecular behaviour, vaccines and medications can be produced to treat diseases and conditions. Fruits and vegetables can be modified to grow faster, taste better, resist different temperatures, repels insects, etc2. Although biotechnology has the potential to affect modern society and have a positive impact on the environment, the misuse of such technology can lead to devastating consequences and side effects. The creation of bioweapons, food toxicity, errors in products and many ethical issues are also to be considered with the development of such technology. However, the upside and potential breakthrough in this technology could feed the hungry, reduce environmental or human footprint, develop cleaner and more efficient energy sources, etc. On top of this, the emerging applications in the biotech sector is creating plenty of opportunities for businesses that offer biotech related services for other organisations to make use of3. Examples of these applications and subjects include combinatorial chemistry, bioinformatics, biochips, proteomics and high-throughput screening. However on of the most looked at, compelling and c...
After a 60 minute interview with Dr. Rob Geis, Director of Procurement at BayCare Health System, I was ready to take on the world. Dr. Geis completed his Masters and Doctoral degree at State University while working at BayCare. After completing the two advanced degrees he was promoted to Director. Currently he teaches two online classes at The University of Phoenix on Health Care management and procurement. As a director at BayCare Health System he has to hold trainings for potential vendors and current vendors along with the training sessions for employees that will directly intervene with the vendors of the behalf of the Health System. It was inspiring to see someone who has successfully blended three different adult learner experiences together; a student, corporate trainer, and adjunct professor.
...mplications that allow for opportunities of change. One of the presumptions is for training and staffing (Shi & Singh, 2012). With the utilization of health care improvements, the staff will need additional instructions on the performance of equipment and how to efficiently achieve the desired results. Managers or supervisors recognize the need for supplemental staffing and training to optimize patient satisfaction and quality of care. The health care administrator must also focus on changes in insurance policies and rules governing the provision of medical assistance (Shi & Singh, 2012).
Biotechnology is one of the leading industries in the world. It has vastly improved medicine and created ways to improve the environment. It has laid out a foundation in terms of ethical practices. We will be discussing its sub factors and its most important factor which tells us where the biotechnology industry is progressing more. The potential sources of funding for the creation of biotechnology industries. We will also be considering how biotechnology firms collaborate with external partners for innovation as well as how they choose their partners in terms of innovation. It tells us where we are supposed to look when it comes to alliances. These four questions can explain how the Biotechnology Industry works, how the Biotechnological Industry
Humans need to embrace biotechnology in order to secure their future. By implementing this policy an effort will be made to ensure that all future food and
For the biotechnology industry, the future is now. Biotech companies are producing new and improved drugs, mapping the genome, and creating artificial organs and body parts. The advent of these new products will increase the quality of life for those who have access to them. Advancements in the biotechnology field have received a lot attention by the press and publications. They have given the impression that it is almost imperative to learn about this fairly new field of study.
