Macbeth is the story of a man who is finding himself faced with a moment of choice, lets the bad side of his nature dominate him. He considers his choices carefully, looks at the alternatives, and deliberately chooses the course he knows to be evil. From this time on he seems unable to turn back to the good side. In the beginning he starts out at the height of his success and honor, but then follows along dark path to doom. Macbeth did not make these choices on his own though the witches planted the idea into his head and even then he denied the bad side, but his wife (Lady Macbeth) persuades him into the bad side. For example they used to believe in witches who would have scared them, they also used to believe that the king was chosen by God, so when Macbeth killed King Duncan the audience would have been shocked because Macbeth broke or disobeyed God's choice. This play was funded and was made to please King James, because King James was interested in witches and even wrote a book about it. He also believed a lot in the Divine rights of kings which really shows where Shakespeare got most of his characters from.

However Banquo was much more optimistic about the words of the witch’s, questioning Macbeth, “why do you start and seem to fear things that do sound so fair?” Macbeth is still in shock which gives time for Banquo to question the witch’s about his future. The bad weather in Macbeth means that the witches are evil. The witches say that they control the weather. A bad storm comes on the night that Duncan is murdered which points to the fact that the weather is related to evil. Also other signs that show that the witches should not be trusted because, they don’t look like humans and look like they come from Earth. “So withered and so wild in their attire, that look not like the in habitants of Earth.” they look disgusting with non-human characteristics such as dry cracked skin.”By each at once her choppy finger lying upon her skinny lips”.
