For my second IDC project, I decided to be a part of a group that was recreating the Backstreet Boys music video I Want it That Way. For this project, I played the role of producer, and director. This video task taught our group the basic fundamentals needed for directing, organizing, and film making. Overall, I believe this project was a very unique experience that produced a very successful and comical video. I process we took to get to the final product required a great deal of cooperation and organization. We started by analyzing each scene of the music video and determining whether the scene was establishing, closeup, etc. We then considered who the 5 Backstreet Boys should be, and after a lot of controversy, we came up with 5 dedicated people that were willing to be a part of our video. We also decided that Cicada would be the the filmer, and editor, and Ashlyn and I would be the directors. We then considered location we could use to film the video. We initially planned on using a green screen for the majority of the video, but after receiving permission from the London International Airport, we were able to film a better part of the scenes there. Other scenes, including those with the backdrop as an airplane, where filmed at school, with a green screen. We also were able to use the small gym, as well as the grade nine boys gym class for scenes that included fans. After we had organized the locations we were using for our video, we focused on costumes. Costumes for the most part were fairly easy.
