backline. My fitness weakness is my speed. Speed is defined as the ability to put body parts into action quickly. Speed is used to sprint. Sprinting is anaerobic respiration which is working at a very high intensity or at your maximum level of exertion. Speed is extremely important to ensure that as a centre back I can keep up with attackers making darting runs. Although my cardio vascular endurance is at a high level, my speed lets me down. I am able to maintain energy throughout the entire game but there are short bursts in games where my …show more content…
Increasing my speed would allow me to prevent more goals as I would be able to keep up with and outpace attackers that have broken through our backline.
Skill / tactic strength – fully justified with reference to recent performances Within my chosen activity of football I have decided to highlight passing as one of my strengths. Passing the ball is a key part of association football. The purpose of passing is to keep possession of the ball by manoeuvring it on the ground between different players with the objective of advancing it up the playing field. My biggest justification for choosing passing as my strength is that as a centre back, I am often faced with the ball at my feet and am expected to play the ball out. As a centre back my positioning is key as I need to be in the correct place to make an option and receive the ball. This allows my team to keep possession and allows us to control the game. My team’s attackers often make
The advantage of this fitness test is that it has a close correlation with the velocity and directional change requirement utilised in playing the game (Barber et.al. 2016). Additionally variations of the test can be used to adapt to sports specific requirements such as dribbling in soccer or holding a ball in rugby (Barber et.al. 2016).
Soccer players are used to playing in different positions. The most glorified and exciting positions are seen as the attacking ones. However, every great coach will tell you that you start building your team from the back. A defender’s primary duty is to win back the ball from the opposition and prevent them from scoring. Teams play with anywhere from three to five at the back and each member of the defense tends to have a different, yet equally important duty. One type of defensive role is the sweeper positions. Not all teams use them in modern soccer. Not every team will play with a sweeper because they will want to play the offside-trap
There are 5 positions: 1.Goalie, 2.Defender’s, 3.midfielder, 4.Forward, 5 Striker. Those are all the positions. A goalie is a person that stays back in the goal she can use her hands but only if she is in the goal box. A Defender is the person who stays back towards the goal and tries to take the ball away and kick it up to either the midfielder or the forwards before the ball gets to the goalie. Next is the midfielder their job is to run up and try to score and if the ball gets taken away their job is to run back and help play defense. The forward is a person who tries to score but if the ball gets taken away they do not run back to help play defense because if their team gets the ball back they won’t have anyone to pass up to. Next is the striker my team doesn’t have a striker but it’s pretty much just...
...good stats in pace, dribbling, passing, and shooting. The next 3 position are the attackers which include the 2 outside wingers, and the striker. The wingers are on the edges of the pitch looking to assist the striker. To assist the striker wingers need good pace, passing, dribbling, and shooting. Strikers are what win teams games, because they are the ones who are expected to score all the goals. This requires good stats in their shooting, heading, strength, and pace to score goals.
Speed: the ability to move quickly across the ground or move limbs rapidly to run, grab or throw. Speed requires good strength and power, but also too much body weight and air resistance can act to slow the person down. Speed is the most important skill related component in Touch Football as it is one of the fastest game in the world and requires non stop fast paced running against the defence to acquire tries.
From soccer to football and baseball to basketball, each sport has its one valuable position. This one position is essential for the team’s victories. The player to fill this role must not only be a decisive leader but a skillful player as well. This spot requires hard work and dedication which in turn provides teammates with a satisfying example and contributes to the team’s victories. Not any player is capable of fulfilling these requirements so certain precautions should be taken when fulfilling these roles. Two complementary positions from two varying sports are the basketball point guard and football quarterback. Although their origins are from
Even though football and soccer often share a name, the two sports are vastly different: they both contain their own merits though; each has its own athletes, rules, and fan base. Athletes in both sports are incredibly fit and in control of their bodies although they can differ. In soccer, all positions require speed, agility, and leg dexterity in order to out run their opponent and maneuver the ball while in football the variety of positions require different attributes. Height is only beneficial in soccer for some defenders and mid-fielders in order to gain an advantage to jump for heading while it can act to slow attackers who need speed and quickness above jump height. Speed, in both running and ball control, is required above all else to chase or lose the other team. To wrestle control of the ball from opponents, defenders in soccer must simply be stronger than the lightweight sized attackers. Only goalies need hand-eye coordination while the rest of the team needs only foot finesse. In football the many positions require their own set of needs. Quarterbacks must be tall to see the field over the lineman and have a good arm to throw the ball. Lineman must be as large and strong as possible to block or move the opposing line man. Runningbacks need speed and quickness to out run and dodge while having enough strength to break tackles and hold on to the ball. Receivers are similar except that they also need hand-eye coordination to catch passes and height to outreach the defense. Linebackers must be the most versatile, with strength to take down ball carriers and a combination of speed and coordination to keep up with receivers. Defensive backs need to keep up with receivers to stop passes. Mentally, it is demanded that players...

The two main component of fitness used extensively in football is cardiovascular and muscular endurance. Cardiovascular endurance is mainly focused on the respiratory system and it determines how effective your heart is in pump blood and oxygen to the muscles. It also focuses on what level your heart rate is at (bpm) and how much oxygen you physically need when playing sports. Muscular endurance mainly focus on the muscular system and it determines how long you muscles can be physically working for, at both lower and higher intensities, when playing a sport. It is the speed which your muscles take to tire and fatigue. In football, you are having to constantly running around the pitch to either receive passes, create space, run back to your

Soccer the most popular sport in the world, since is the sport with more active players with around 270 million athletes. By having registered so many players, it’s not surprising that this sport has more fans than any other sport worldwide. Every team looks for a player that moves the ball, and that creates plays to score. This means a person that pass the ball through the entire game. To pass the ball in a proper way is one of the main skills a player needs to play soccer. Passing the ball, keeps the game going. Without being able to pass the ball accurately to your teammates, more than likely your team won’t be able to score a goal. The key for passing is to keep things simple. This means passing the ball to your nearest teammate that is not marked by an opponent.
To be an efficient passer you will need to be able to perform many different types of passes such as Shot Pass, Long Pass (AKA. Ping), Switches (Passing to the other side of the field) etc. It is widely said In Spanish football for example that “the ball moves faster than players “, this is why they put an emphasis on passing so much. The skill to pass the ball and spread the play could separate two teams’ potential chance of winning in a game.
Soccer is a sport that is all about motion and how to use movements most effectively. Speed and velocity are very important when it comes to motion because with out them there would be no motion. When playing soccer speed is essential to being a productive player. The game is fast paced and so the players must also be quick on their feet.
