The first Commonwealth games was held in 1930 in Hamilton, Canada. 11 countries and over 400 athletes participated during this event to take part in 6 sports and 59 events. Since then, the Games have been hosted every four years. (Australian Commonwealth Games Association) From 1930 to 1950 the name of the Games changed to British Empire Games. It was only until 1978 when they changed the name to the Commonwealth Games. (Commonwealth Games Federation). My vision for the Commonwealth Games in 2026 is to have the Games with athletes that are healthy and competitive that leaves a great memory in history. It is vital for food stalls to be nearby the venue as this gives convenience to the audience. The audience doesn’t want to walk or drive a distance just to get some food to eat. In addition, implementing food stalls nearby the venue can increase the profit which can be spent on other areas. Alongside the evidence in source 3 figure 1, it can be conveyed on the flow graph that Africa exports their agricultural produce to Australia with a total amount of 22 billion dollars’ worth. Also the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade states that Australia is assisting Africa back by investing better agricultural technology for Africa. The agricultural sector in Africa supports 80% of Africans. With all of this data, most African countries are developing countries, they work hard on producing agricultural produce for themselves and surprisingly enough for exports to Australia. Doesn’t Australia have a sustainable food production? Why do we need food exports from Africa? With all of the agricultural produce, we can utilise this for food stalls.
