Every time I contemplate about gay marriage there is a certain song that comes to mind. It is the song, “Same Love” by Macklemore. This song explains how gay marriage, and marriage are the same concept, and that concept is that you love the other person with all your heart. A few lines that symbolize this songs message are the following: “We've become so numb to what we're saying, Our culture founded from oppression, Yet we don't have acceptance for 'em Call each other faggots, Behind the keys of a message board A word rooted in hate, Yet our genre still ignores it"Gay" is synonymous with the lesser, It's the same hate that's caused wars from religion, Gender to skin color, the complexion of your pigment, The same fight that led people to walk-outs and sit-ins, It's human rights for everybody, there is no difference, Live on! And be yourself!” This song is not only inspirational but a true part of the movement for gay marriage, Same Love was an instant hit and is the trademark song for gay marriage. In the next 20 years I can see gay marriage being a more acceptable thing. Our generation will be older and the generation before us will be even more tolerant about the subject of gay marriage. The elderly now are set on their morals, values, and beliefs so it would be hard to persuade them to believe otherwise. But on the other hand students in college don’t even know what they are going to do with their life, let alone what their morals are. It would not only be easier to persuade them about gay marriage but I would feel more comfortable knowing how open-minded they would be. In conclusion all kinds of marriage share one thing in common, that students, elderly, and Catholics can all agree on, which is love. It is universal and should always be accepted no matter who it is with.
