Autism is a wide-spectrum disorder of brain development. Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are defined by strong and pervasive shortage in socialisation, communication (verbal and nonverbal), and restricted or stereotyped behaviours ( Levy, Mandell and Schultz, 2010). So, people with ASD are different from most other people in the way they behave, interact and learn. Although some people with ASD may have low abilities, others may be talented (CDC, 2014). Autism spectrum disorders are sophisticated, lasting, neurodevelopmental conditions and the main cause unidentified. Autism comes in the second rank after mental retardation among the serious developmental disorders so; it is frequent and is now much more common than before (Newschaffer et al, 2007). Autism is a various disease characterized by impairments in three main fields: social interaction, language and repetitive behavior. It was discovered that boys are at increased risk for the ASDs. (Abrahams & Geschwind, 2009). It is approximately 5 times more common among boys (1 in 42) than among girls (1 in 189). However, ASD occurs in all different groups: ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic (CDC, 2014).
What is the history of Autism?
The word "autism" comes from the Greek word "autos" which means "self". The term describes that a person with autism transmit from social interaction to isolation. Parents of a child with Autism face many challenges in order to cope with the situation and improve the quality of life of children with autism. So, family’s awareness of Autism signs and treatment must be established. Parents should consult specialists when doubt that their child has signs of ASD. Although many techniques and treatments exist now that can help relieve the pain and suffering of autism, parents need to learn the strategies that facilitate dealing and supporting a child with Autism. The government also should raise people’s awareness of Autism and provide the required support centers for families of children with Autism and further future research should be encouraged to improve the treatment and therapy of Autism.
Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that effects the brains development. It is characterized by affecting communication, cognition and social interaction. The spectrum of the disorders ranges from a mild condition called Asperger’s syndrome to a more severe form, which severely impairer’s development. The Office of Communications and Public Liaison states that the disorder affects one and eighty-eight children, however ASD effects boys more frequently than girls (Office of Communications and Public Liaison, 2013). ASD emerges in all age, ethnic and socioeconomic groups. The significant varied character and severity of the disorder is why ASD is considered a spectrum that poses a broad range of symptoms.

Often known as the childhood disease, is anything but that. It is a disease, a neuro-development disorder that is highly costly through one’s life. In 1943, Leo Kanner observed eleven children, each with similar behavioral patterns, and published a paper in which he stared,” The condition differs markedly and uniquely from any reported so far” (Miller). Although many cases of autism, and autism-like disorders appeared before throughout history, no one ever properly defined this disorder until Kanner’s paper. The first said to mention the word autism was Martin Luther during the Protestant Reformation, while describing a severally autistic boy, but this is a doubted speculation. The first to medically coin the term autism was Hans Asperger. Even though, he thought he was observing autism, he was actually observing and describing Asperger Syndrome, which doctors realized was a different disorder in 1981 (“Who discovered Autism?”).

Autism is a development disability that typically shows during the first three years. Autism is an effect of a neurological disorder that disturbs the functioning of the brain. Autism is four more times dominant in boys than girls. Autism shows no cultural, racial or social boundaries. Family salary, lifestyle and education also does not affect the chance of autism. Autism is a condition, or "disorder" that affects many people. Autism strikes at will, when and where it wants. Unlike Downs Syndrome or other birth "defects," Autism leave no marks on those that it strikes. In fact, Autism takes pride in the ability to infiltrate a child's life, while leaving him or her strikingly handsome. Many people may not even know that Autism is there. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), falling under the umbrella term of Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), is defined by the International Classification of Diseases, volume 10 (ICD-10) as a disorder first diagnosed in childhood by the clinical manifestation of marked impairment in communication and social interaction, and repetitive or stereotyped behaviors (“Pervasive developmental disorders,” 2010). This definition aligns with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM-V), currently used in the United States (American Psychological Association, 2013).

According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, up to six out of every 1,000 children may be diagnosed with some form of autism. In addition, boys are four times more likely than girls to have autism. This means that as many as 1.5 million Americans today are believed to have some form of autism. Unfortunately, the numbers appear to be increasing rapidly. Autism is a disability that frequently appears during the first three years of life. It is the result of a neurological disorder that affects the functioning of the brain and impacts the normal development of the brain in the areas of social interaction and communication skills (Bee & Boyd, 2009). It is the most prevalent developmental disorder to date. Autism is one of five disorders coming under the umbrella of Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD), a category of neurological disorders characterized by "severe and pervasive impairment in several areas of development," including social interaction and communications skills (Zager, 2006). The etiology of autism is a topic of controversial debate, while researchers strive to achieve a common objective. The goal is to identify the cause of autism to understand the complex interplay between environment and gene regulation (NCBI, 2009). Although individuals with autism have existed for many centuries it was not recognized and labeled until mid 20th century. Therefore, early detection, intervention and an individual educational plan are essentials for the progress of ASD.
Autism is a form of neurodevelopment disorder in the autism spectrum disorders. It is characterized by impaired development in social interactions and communication, both verbal and non-verbal. There is an observed lack of spontaneous acts of communication; both receptive and expressed, as well as speech impairments. A person diagnosed with Autism will also show a limited range of activities and interests, as well as forming and maintain peer relationships. The individuals will display limited interests, which are often very focused and repetitive. He or she is likely to be very routine oriented and may show behavioral symptoms such as hyperactivity, impulsivity, aggressiveness, and self-injurious behaviors.

Until research on autism and other developmental disabilities yields more information about how autism affects neurological function, children and adults who are affected will not be served to the fullest extent of our capabilities as providers of equal education and health care to all. It is only with more information about the neurological differences in the autistic brain that we will fully understand the best way to teach persons with autism so that they might participate to their fullest potential within their community. It is my personal belief that great progress will be made during my own lifetime and that a new level of outcome will be the normal expectation for parents when their child receives this shattering diagnosis during the next generation.
Autism was discovered in the early 1900. It was then used to name a range of different neuropsychological conditions. The Term Autism is derived from the word “autos” that in Greek means self.
