As a university student the way I learn compared to when I was at level 3 in my BTEC course is similar to university, as I'm expected to use the same type of the skills but I've gone on to develop these as a university student. With the skills like team work, organising and communication I was expected to use these. They enabled me to learn and progress as I had to apply my own knowledge and make the links between theoretical learning by using research and skills and apply them to work related contexts and case studies. At John Moores I am expected to use the same types of learning skills but to a higher level and advance the skills which I had already learnt. Being at university has also taught me to independently find and gather resources as there are fewer taught lessons, so I have had to take responsibility in finding sufficient information like reading academic resources to get more of a wider knowledge around ideas, theories and beliefs in order to analyze and evaluate. It is important to develop and use the skills which come with study and research within the academic literature, as these are transferable skills which can be used in the work place. There will be situations where they will needed to used and I'll be able to complete efficiently as I would have had experience using them in other situations.
During my first year at university I have been able to develop my skills and use these skills in different situations during this time. Team working and interpersonal skills have been one skill for example which I have needed to use in a few of my modules. I have had to use my team working skills to create a group essay and also personal planning and organising skills have been essential in all of my modules in university ...

... in future if I came across a team member like the individual I will try to help the situation and compromise with the person to keep everyone happy and the relationships between everyone neutral in the team as its important everyone gets on.
To further develop myself at university I need to consider other skills which I use less at university and try to develop these skills so that I become familiar with using a variety of skills when it comes to using them in a future job. During my second year I am planning to take action to achieve a career in the sector that I want to work in, preferably marketing. I want to find some volunteering/ work experience by taking advantage of the resources and help given to me by the university like career fairs and networking with employers and also use the mini guides provided by John Moores to find the work experience that I need.
According to Muller, Prowse, and Soper (2012) the procedures to remove and replace a power supply are;
... that long ingrained negative tendencies and habits cannot simply or only be cured by avoiding them or by trying to win them over by extending praise, motivation, rewards or incentives (Holpp, 1998). In a team scenario, one can only solve a problem by actually facing that problem. So, whether it is a slacker or an obstructionist, one cannot correct a problematic team member without confronting one. Of course, the problematic team member may not always end up becoming cooperative after a confrontation. Still, this should not serve as an excuse for ignoring or avoiding a problem that is holding a team back. An effective team leader is always left with two options, either to make a team member work or to chuck one out. And both of these options ultimately amount to confrontation.

Likewise, the conflict should be acknowledged as soon as it is seen and prepare for the resolution. During such time, the discussion about it plays vital role towards resolving the conflict. In order to maximize team efforts, teammates must cooperate with each other and try to resolve conflict with proper and transparent communication. While resolving a conflict, it is also important for the teammates to remember why they are together in the first place and follow their best foundational strategy.
Before starting the degree course in university, I already had the skill working with others. As I have worked with others who were on the same course as me in the sixth form and also I did voluntary work placement which required people working together.

I have attained various vital skills through studying my selected subjects. A-level Mathematics has helped me excel in my ability to analyse lengthy problems and solve them systematically. This is beneficial as optometrists should have the skill to understand mathematical as well as scientific information. Studying biology and chemistry at an advanced level further increased my skills as it allowed me to understand concepts at a molecular level. In addition to improving my independent working through undertaking experiments in the laboratory independently. These are

While working or while looking for work there are certain skills sets that are universally important. No matter what job or career path you have chosen these skills make it easier to obtain your goals, whatever they may be.
Skills given above are what students should develop and invest during the process of studying for a degree. Obviously, these skills called transferable skills are both relevant to employment and study. 'These skills are interpersonal as well as intellectual, and include the skill to learn from experience as well as reading, the ability to manage yourself, basic skills in numeracy, literacy and IT, interpersonal group-working and communication skills in analyzing and solving problems' (Cameron, 2008:19). So whether students could gain transferable skills in the university has become a major factor of developing a career after their graduation.
These are the skills I already have such as: communication; personal skills; motivational; creative and time management skills. These I have previously acquired will help me to be successful in my career. To know how far on the scale of these specific skills I will have to do a self-assessment. A self-assessment is a very important tool used by managers in all industry. Sometimes you can’t possibly remember what you have done and how to improve yourself and by assessing my own skills this will allow me to remember all of my personal achievements and personal disappointments. This is a form of feedback which requires the assessor to be completely honest to themselves and in order f...
In this report, I will reflect on my professional development throughout this module, from when I started in September, to now. According to Beausaert et al. (2011), ‘the art of self-evaluation is an integral element of reflection and involves critical insight into understanding one 's strengths and limitations’. Therefore, my aim is to identify my learning needs and to recognise my personal skills and capabilities, as well as identifying areas of my skill set that need to be refreshed or extended to stand out in the competitive job market. By doing this, I hope to demonstrate knowledge of the skills that I have gained during this module.
