As a man thinkith by James Allen is an interesting book that really emphasizes that you are your own thoughts. What caught my attention about this book was that all of his quotes and his title are from the book of proverbs in the bible. At first most of it sounds inspiring and filled with enthusiasm to get you thinking proactively. But when you pay close attention to some of the harsh quotes that are very extremist it gets you to thinking, is this one hundred percent absolute? No! You can choose any of these motivating quotes and you may never pick up that the author is so sure of what he is saying, as if there is no excuse, and room for special circumstances.
Allen also provides insight into the analogy that the body is the mind’s servant, and explains that thoughts, whether good or bad, will have an effect on the body for better or for worse. He also tells the readers that they should fight to achieve their goals, and make certain sacrifices as well. Allen also encourages the readers to dream big, and states that their dreams would be their future destiny in life. As I was reading this in made me think of Manifest destiny that was...

They would clutter this world with an over abundance of evil. How about man that makes obstacles for others like the analogy crabs in a pot; Men that pull each other back down so that the other can’t escape. Theirs always people that envy one another, and will think of many evil ways to make them self’s feel better while hurting the other. So this is more than enough proof that no your not you just because you have always thought to be this way. In reality theirs too many factors and details that make us who we are today. The decisions we make may direct us a certain path, but the layout of the road ahead may redirect our pathways that we may of never thought to take.
