There is much debate over the institution of universal health care for our country's citizens. There concerns of heavy taxes and expenses, and. There are concerns over quality of care. There also concerns of overuse and reliance on such a service. However, I can think of no more economically enriching, morally correct, and overall American thing to do than to give us all the health care we need. Universal health care is a needed service for our government and our people. The first concern is the rise of taxes and overall expenses. This is a valid concern, after all we are a capitalist nation. What value would there be in making health care free and securing financial levity in this field? Well the issue is not on the profits of a medical industry, but the more grossing and encompassing factor of securing the health of our workforce. The unalienable right that we all hold is that of life. Is our government not subject to both the rights and whims of the people? Than what does it say that when our constitution guarentees the right to a government appointed lawyer, but not a doctor? It is easy to the faulty reasoning. Legal defense is a right, but the right to live but be paid and bought. What also does it say when our government is not willing to put measures in place to secure our right to the pursuit of happiness? Where we must either pay to be bailed out of death and disease and then have the chance to pursue our hopes and dreams. Universal health care is not only a necessary service and benefit to the people, but it is integral to rights we all hold dear. It secures our right to pursue happiness and life, as well as bolstering our economic fortune. We all have the right to pursue our hopes and dreams.
