Animals have been genetically modified since 12000 B.C. and plants since 10000 B.C. ( "Gmos: what are they?" ). Genetically modified organisms have existed for a long time and people have genetically modified many things.
Benefits and risks of genetically modified organisms
Although there are benefits, there are not many, genetically modified organisms could help with things like food shortages, the use of pesticides, and they’re good for companies.
